Government officials involved in murder of innocent MQM workers should be brought to justice: MQM USA condemns extrajudicial killings and open violations of law in Karachi

Communication & Media Cell; Chicago, 2nd May 2014; MQM USA’s Central Organizer Junaid Fahmi, Joint Organizers Mohammad Arshad Hussain and Nadeem Siddiqui, along with members of Central Organizing Committee condemned the extrajudicial killing of four MQM workers in the strongest words possible, and termed it as another shameful event in the ongoing victimization of Mohajirs.

In their joint-statement, Central Organizing Committee stated that enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killing of MQM workers has shaken the nation’s conscience. While, higher judiciary and other major political parties have remained silent on such inhumane torture and killings of MQM workers; this silence attributes to their criminal negligence. This has caused the citizens of Karachi to questions why is their city being neglected upon, why has it been left orphaned, and why is such cruelty and barbarianism being inflicted upon this city? Furthermore they questioned, despite giving countless sacrifices to create and save this country, why aren’t Mohajir’s considered son-of soil? If Karachi is considered mini-Pakistan, then why treat Karachites any different from rest of the Pakistanis?

Additionally, they stated that those inflicting brutality shall not forget that citizens of Karachi aren’t weak or fragile; instead they have remained peaceful and non-violent due to appeal for peace put forth by Founder and Leader of MQM, Mr. Altaf Hussain and their never ending love for Pakistan has kept them united, patient and intact, rather than deteriorating upon path of violence.

MQM USA’s Central Organizing Committee appealed to the patriotic and peace loving citizens of Pakistan to stand in solidarity with people of Karachi in such hard times of need and enact as a studded wall against all forms of cruelty and violence and only the unity of innocent and deprived citizens can defeat such government orchestrated barbarianism. They demanded the federal and provincial governments to expose the perpetrators of such horrendous acts, and bring them to justice; so that the sense of deprivation found amongst citizens of Karachi can be forgone.

In conclusion, MQM USA’s office bearers prayed for forgiveness of martyred MQM workers.

MQM if wanted had taken revenge of 10 years of operation(and 5 prior years of opression and killings) and 15,000 dead MQM workers when it got the home ministry in the mushy time but they didnt, key MQM leaders like khalid bin walid etc died but still MQM keot its calm and karachi saw peace
