Mongolia should hold vote on rejoining China

After Mongolia becomes a part of German empire, as I look for new career, I will offer myself to the german government as the new Emperor of Mongolia. at first, I will select 100 most beautiful mongolian girls as my concubines :-)

@Viet ! Now you have a very sharp 5 year plan ! ;)

China is built on centuries of civilization. Shared culture, language, history.

It shares nothing with Mongolia other than it having taken over China.

You're better off incorporating Singapore.

Don't even think about it. The only relationship we have with China is MONEY other than that nothing.

Why do we need an Asian Union?

Long term, I don't think China is strong enough to take on the Anglo-Saxon and NATO alliance. In North America, the United States has deep ties with Canada and Mexico through NAFTA. The U.S. has strong Anglo-Saxon cultural ties to Canada, Britain, Australia, and New Zealand. The U.S. saved its fellow Christians in Europe during World War II and established NATO afterwards.

In total, the U.S. is the leader of a fairly tight-knit group that includes: Europe, British Isles, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and more loosely in Mexico and Turkey.

Right now, with the West-Russia split, China has a unique opportunity. China can assemble an equally impressive alliance. China needs to pull in Mongolia, ASEAN, Central Asian states, and Russia.

Russia is up for grabs. If China hurries, we can pull Russia away from Europe. Afterwards, China can work on integrating the other members of SCO and discuss broadening the club.

I don't think ASEAN will be joining hands with China anytime soon :P

On the whole we are just trying to regain what we have lost
We have lost more lands than we have gained throughout the border negotiations

Some of the HKers are severely spoilt
Without China's support, they will be going down the drains, worse than India

If Singapore can survive, HK can survive very easily without China :P

In my opinion, China has two main priorities.

Number one, China must annex Southeast Asia for several reasons:

1. Agricultural land.
2. Fresh water.
3. A coastline on the Indian Ocean.
4. Control of the Strait of Malacca.

Keep in mind, I'm not talking about an invasion of Indonesia or any other island. I'm talking about the annexation of the areas of Southeast Asia that are land-connected to China. The PLA can take these areas easy.

Number two, China should annex Central Asia for the oil, natural gas, and uranium. Central Asia is landlocked. The PLA can't lose here.

Forget about democracy. Democracy means haggling and negotiations that may drag on for decades. Take these regions by force when the time is right.

Does China have the ability to wage a massive ground war across Asia? The answer is yes. China has built the largest auto industry in the history of the world producing over 22 million vehicles a year. This is a transportation system that can deliver tens of millions of troops and maintain supply lines across Asia.

Road and highway networks already extend across Asia.

How do you know all Hongkonger are not happy with mainland rule? Just becos 5000 hker carry out demonstration. Does it mean all others must be unhappy too?

Mongolia with such a pathetic economy growth , poor infrastruture development and poor standard of living. Do you think they are happy? How can they not be happy if they got a chance to rapidly upgraded their standard?

More Indians are not happy with the Indian rule than HKers with the Chinese rule. I do not see why India should repress the yearnings of freedom of people who hate to be under the Indian rule.

China will eventually get the lost territories. People may consider this aggressive and land grabbing, who cares? If talking is the best they could do, that's in fact a good thing.

Taking Mongolia militarily has downsides. It creates a bad international image for China. Also, China's Navy is not strong enough to assure safe oil supplies from Saudi Arabia against the US Navy.

China can win in the near sea, but not in the far sea. That Chinese military capability is 15-20 years away.

Finally, it is better to just wait and let the Mongolians decide. When the Mongolians get tired of being broke and living in the Third World, all they have to do is join China for endless prosperity and technology.

After Mongolia, the offer should be made to Thailand. The goal is to exceed the Qing Dynasty.

My proposal is to use China's technological advantage and wealth into creating a more open system. Join the China club. Let's see if we can persuade Mongolia, Thailand, and possibly North Korea someday to join.
high hopes..

The vast wide-open plains of Central Asia are actually perfect tank country for the PLA. China can't lose here.

Take a look at the terrain in the pictures posted above. Do you honestly think the PLA can lose here?

what is in winter.

Don't forget that from winter 1944, Russian tanks invaded in to Germany. same story will repeated when Russian tanks will made victory parade in Peking.

You are such a delusional idiot, thinking any sovereign state would willingly want to form an union with another state without any power play. Your thick skull needs some education on military history. However day dreaming doesn't hurt !

These small sovereign states have some hard choice. Why would Gulf states trying to build GCC and why Western Christian states build EU?

For EU, either they live a lower standards of living or cede some of their independence to Germany in order to receive subsidy from Germany.

Mongolia goes back China, while your country goes back to Russia.

The deal is set.
Wrong,an independent central asia fit for China's national interests,Russia has no right to own central asia, they are shameless invaders, alien to Asian people, why are you guys so pro-Russia?Do you know we have friendly relation with central Asian nationas and we have interests there, are you guys stupid?Do you know what the Russia take over central asia means? That means we lost interests there, end of our new silk road project and so on
While I think China should cooperate with Korea,Japan,Mongolia and ASEAN,because I believe East Asian Union,i don't think this can be achieved by war.

A lot of people do not know or underestimate China's historical projection on Central Asia. Even in the North South Dynasty, the Uzbekistan is still a nominal tributary state.

Below is from zizhitongjian 资治通鉴, 破洛那 means Ferghana in Uzbekistan. It says Ferghana kingdom pay tributes to the Wei dynasty.

In fact, China sphere of influence in cental is traditionally up to Ferghana. From Han to Tang, there are always Chinese presence in Central Asia. The real break is Song and Ming. Qing empire is merely recovering that influence. And the most important Qing Dynasty contribution to China is, the whole solidifying the hold of China up to Almaty.

Too many fools here. Why would China annex SE countries? There are hundreds million population in SE Asia! And Hans have a very low birth rate. It's more like SE countries annex China. China will be colonized be SE Asians. It's a suicide for Chinese.

US will never annex Mexico.

Mongolia only has 3 million people.
Laos only has 7 million people.
Kazakhstan only has 18 million people (which is about Shanghai's population).
Cambodia only has 15 million people.

Let's start with these four candidates and see how the experiment turns out.

China has the highest nominal per-capita GDP among its neighbors.* In fact, Chinese nominal per-capita GDP this year is higher than Russian nominal per-capita GDP. If someone wants me to show the calculations, just ask.

I think there should be a two-tier approach. If a country joins China, the full package of benefits (including full technological upgrade and First World living standard of $20,000) should be offered.

For those that are reticent, we can start with an Asian Union (modeled on the European Union rules). This arms-length model will not include technology transfer or transfer payments to ensure a First World living standard.

In conclusion, China must compete against the expanding European Union. In today's world, you have no choice. You have to play by modern rules. The use of military force (which is the old way) has too many unpredictable consequences and should be avoided as much as possible. Force is the last resort. Let's try everything else first.

*The South Koreans are isolated on a peninsula with a non-traversable DMZ. They might as well be an island. They really shouldn't be included among mainland-Asia countries in comparing nominal per-capita GDP.

The OP does not discuss annexation of SEA. Nor does it suggest colonization of any nation. The essence of the thesis of the OP is that China may form a sort of voluntary union of economic and geopolitical nature thanks to its growing scale as a center of attraction. That would, in essence, be a loose union.
