Modi govt to implement Uniform Civil Code soon?

Do you even understand the meaning of Uniform Civil Code? it has nothing to do with uniforms worn by Generals or Doctors or Nazis or anybody else. UCC means that all people of India will be governed by the same civil law related to marriage, divorce, inheritance etc irrespective of religion. right now Muslims have their own law, Christians have their, Hindus their etc etc.

The Uniform Civil Code will make all laws religion neutral

if india is a secular country then secular laws should apply. shariah can be applicable in banking and personal matters. if your constitution guarantees religious freedom then the provisions of shariah cannot be prohibited including the 4 wives and talaq provisions of shariah ?

UCC is desirable but how will you convince people of other religions to do away with their personal laws ?

What then is difference between religious country and secular contry. hariah laws are allowed in Islamic Countries. In secular country they should not be allowed as they are religion based laws.
US UK France Germany etc are secular country and they dont allow Shariah based laws

good evening sir , because people who made their carriers in various fields including political carriers are rattled and disheartened as they can see their 70 years hard work which was totally focused on being anti majority is getting sidelined and futile now , thanks to the first patriotic prime minister of Bharat Shri narendra modi and his government .

off topic : the so called 2002 gujarat riots was also a game plan of khangress alias indian national congress to malign the image of a patriotic Sanatan dharmi leader which will unearth too as time pass by , and the world will come to know the real face of the so called secular political parties and propagandists in Bharat .

India isn't ready for this yet.

We need to prepare our people first for this. We need to achieve 100% literacy and higher educations levels especially among the minorities before we push the Uniform Civil Code. At this stage it will only lead to a feeling of persecution among the minorities if we get rid of their personal laws.

BJP should focus on economy and education/literacy right now. UCC can follow later.

Why is their a need for law commission to ask public opinion ? It's a judicial reform which law commission is perfectly able to understand and implement, their will always be ppl who will oppose it rather than giving them space its time to do for the millions who are subjugated to nonsense in the name of religion.

if Law Commission didnt ask for recommendation the "Seculars" will say BJP is implementing Hindutva Agenda. Atleast with Law Commission they can say they followed protocol and asked everyone's voice

Now my understanding is that UCC will require constitutional amendment that means the RS becomes important. If BJP wins UP it will have some numbers in the RS but even without that it will require support from all parties for UCC amendment. Parties like SP and JD(U) wont support it for fear of angering their vote bank but if BJP can say we went via Law Commission recommendation then they may get some support from maybe the congress
