Therefore a honest conversation/debate can be had on how best to implement the law taking everyone's rights, feelings, history, culture, faith etc into consideration

UCC itself, as the name suggests, will be uniform for ALL communities in India. No preferential treatment based on religion will be allowed like it happens in Jinnah’s Pakistan.

For example, if a Christian woman have a right to alimony, a Muslim woman will also have the same right. This is actually beneficial to Muslim women if you think about it because right now, they follow Stone Age non sense which is not compatible with the modern world.

So yeah, it’s gonna be beneficial to all who believe in equality. And for those who think that their religion is in danger because of UCC, they have my permission to go F themselves.

The concept of Alimony comes from Islam. It is called Mahr and was later adopted by Europe and then was adopted in India. Please read post# 30.
