In this age of digitization, that won't be much of an issue.
You're right. I was talking in context with A&N being a manufacturing hub. It can definitely be a financial capital. But the infrastructure needed for any of this will surely have an impact on environment.
 
Total is 8000 sq km, divided into many smaller islands, much of the areas with sandy soil texture is unsuitable to set up industries, they need firm rocky ground, which is virtually non existent.

The only industry A&N can support is food processing and fishing industries, nothing much.

With modern construction technology, sandy or muddy terrine matters hardly. China build an island in sea. Andaman and Nicobar are strategic location and we need to spend on it. we may build a cost effective potent capability in the middle of the sea to have a hawk eye in Indian sea. our spy and reconnaissance plane can be the nightmare of our enemy in the sea.
