Well I think the Jamati threat in Bangladesh is way overblown and alarmists in India don't help the issue either.

In the Subcontinent people know only one religion - money. Everything leads to that religion, if you look deeply.

Politics is related to money and power- there is no ideal or moral left in the world unspoiled by money or power.

One of the most sensible posts i've seen in the forum.. Cant like it enough.. Just one thing though the concept is universal it's not confined to South Asia

You do have a point. Thanks for your kind comment.

However my point was that clueless brainwashed people in the subcontinent keep killing each other in the name of ethnicity and religion - not realizing that they're merely pawns in the hands of the rich and powerful.

In Bangladesh the political parties can't motivate people by ideology anymore except maybe the religious parties. People are too jaded and smart for this now. So they've taken to paying party cadres and hoodlums to go cause trouble in the streets. They're in bed with business people so money is no issue.

The more I think about it the more I'm convinced that benevolent dictators are the answer. Like Lee Kuan Yew was in Singapore.
