Today let me present two interior-related shows on Dhaka channels (my apologies, mostly in Bangla but you can sort of get the drift). This is more or less the aesthetic situation where it stands locally (I'd say not totally optimal but it is what it is). These shows aren't really about architectural avante-garde showcases but rather housewives optimizing their typical condo spaces.
It's good to be modern but we should never forget our past. Off of the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway lies Panam-Nagar, a town frozen in time. Many of the structures are from the 18th and 19th centuries. This area was the ancient capital of Gaur named 'Suvarna Gram' (City of Gold) or today coloquially known as Sonargaon, founded in the mid-1300's. Most of the structures of this ancient capital (which survive from Mughal and post-Mughal times) are in less than ideal state (because of the ravages of the local weather and human neglect) and some surviving buildings are being renovated as shown.

Sonargaon (Bengali: সোনারগাঁও; also transcribed as Sunārgāon, meaning City of Gold) was a historic administrative, commercial and maritime center in Bengal. Situated in the center of the Ganges delta, it was the seat of the medieval Muslim rulers and governors of eastern Bengal. Sonargaon was described by numerous historic travelers, including Ibn Battuta, Ma Huan, Niccolò de' Conti and Ralph Fitch as a thriving center of trade and commerce. It served as the capital of Sultan Fakhruddin Mubarak Shah, Isa Khan and the Baro-Bhuyan Confederacy.
The area is located near the modern industrial river port of Narayanganj in Bangladesh. Today, the name Sonargaon survives as the Sonargaon Upazila (Sonargaon Subregion) in the region.
