Mi- 35M 'Hind E for Pakistan army

Pakistan procuring Russian MI 35 NE would be limited to use them on the WEST so there is a need for the west as well as the south.
Thats mi28 NE
INMO PAF should still look towards AH1Z where as PAA should go for ATAK;s. This would become a high lo kind of a scenario.
Who said PAF is gonna induct an attack helicopter???THey wont

It is not just they are expensive the offer was used Apache A mlu = B standards. Operational cost is also a factor.

Even if T129 comes to Pakistan it would have PAF and PAA to invest on the training.

PAF and PAA already operates the Cobras so the new ones reduce many other issues as well.

Don't you think the cobras we used and upcoming ah1z are quite different in almost every aspect.... So, the training standard will also change...so, why not go for some ATAK 129s..? o_O

TAI recently signed another MOU for its T129. Turkish are pushing hard , but some unknown issues pop up, which PA is not telling.
$$$
TAI said it before, China can offer us a better deal.
Simple fact is we don't have money to invest in T-129 deal.

Both MI-28 Havoc & TAI 129 are dedicated attack helicopters. TAI 129 is a derivative of Augusta Westland A-129 Mangusta whereas Mi-28 developed from the Mi-24 Hind. Later improvements probably had the benefit of the Russian Afghan war experience. I would guess that both helicopters would cost the same. Unless some on has a mole in the or Joint Staff office, it is difficult to guess which attack helo PA is going to go for.

Mi-35 on the other hand is a direct improvement upon the Mi-24, therefore also has some transport capability. IMO Mi-35 would be far most useful in fight against the Taliban; where it can fight its way in & out of the hot zone to reinforce the troops and/ or evacuate the casualties. Besides, Mi-35 has some commonalties with the existing PA Russian fleet because Mi-24 was the attack version of Mi-8 hence easier to maintain.

Personally, I would go for a couple squadrons (say 30) Mi-35’s immediately and worry about TAI-129 & Mi-28 later. However, if I must decide between these two, I would go for Mi-28, again for purely practical reasons. PA has a lot of Mi-8/ Mi-17 and hopefully Mi-35 soon. It should be easier to induct Mi-28 than a totally alien machine.
I think we would have to.go for around 40 MI-28 and than wait for Z-10.to.mature

Still some things would be common. This would reduce the over all training time.

great news for pakistan aviation corps...

fate of indian armoured corps.....

No need to bring India into this. It will serve nothing but starting a troll war.

Furthermore, the Mi-35 are mainly being bought with the war against terrorists in mind, the operation in north west Pakistan against Taliban and other foreign funded militants. This wont be a India specific procurement.

That is one of many reasons why PAA is interested in T-129s, they will also come with full TOT of production and maintenance with TOT of weapons which now Pakistan don't have, one should remember that US did not provided Hellfire missiles to Pakistan, and Turkey is ready to provide TOT of UMTAS & Cirit both of which will add new capabilities to PAA.

Unless Pak wants to make some particular countries happy with a chopper deal, WZ-10 is the best option on the basis of professional/technical grounds & not on "wish specs". Beginning from it's air frame which is designed by Kamov design bureau(Russia) is superior to the other 3 options in aspects of ruggedness, capacity & maneuverability. Engines were a problem but it has already been eliminated with the Ardiden 3C/WZ-16 engine jointly developed by Tuber Meca(France) & AVIC Engine(China) which is in 1700/2000 hp class & is at par with those used in the US inventory. Plus China is going to use these engines in almost all the current or planned designs of Choppers to have similar engine advantage & that can be taken by Pak as well.
Electronics & Sensors are already at par with those of Russians(which anyone can know by doing some google or talking to those who have some clues) & with little investment it can be further matured. ToT factor is always best offered by China & the $$$ problem is also not found in here as mentioned by @razgriz19
The most benefiting factor that comes with WZ-10 is the potential of future growth which is not as much offered by the rest of designs. One thing if you can expect is the use of 3D printing which is reaching the first level of maturity in China(J-31, J-20, J-15, & J-16 are coming with 3D printed parts). 3D or laser printing can eliminate both weight & price of the parts by up to 30% & reduce complexity by making the things in whole pieces instead of small parts to be later jointed.

LHTEC T800 engine is based on Honeywell CTS800 engine which is of US origin. TAI manufactures the engine under ‘License’. Pakistan doesn’t have the technology to produce the rotor blades either. TAI-129 primary weapon is Hellfire missile produced by Lockheed Martin. TOT in case of Pakistan doesn’t mean that we would make all components of the helicopter ourselves. All it means that we would assemble the helo in Pakistan.

TOT is a badly understood concept; it does not mean that it makes us immune to ‘Sanctions’. In case of sanctions, Russian products would be easier to obtain than the US products as China may be able to produce most of the same.
