I still fondly remember the days when Indian & Pakistani Hockey teams ruled the world. Still, it is good to know that at least one team from the subcontinent is playing world-class Hockey. Congrats to Manocret Singh.

Yes, it was only India and Pakistan who were holding the banner for hockey in Asia. Now sadly, India is the only Asian team in top 10 in the world. Arguably, Malaysia is also doing good but they are not consistent enough. Rest all are European teams or teams from outside of Asia. Asian definitely have a different flair to playing hockey as compared to the formulaic way of playing hockey by other countries.
Currently, India is looking really good in hockey though but they need to start winning competitions instead of just going till semi finals or finals.
