Can I ask you a simple question? Are you wilfully or purposely being ignorant to the fact that urdu was developed in uttar pradesh which is in present day India? It really isnt that hard to tell that uttar pradesh is nowhere near pakistan... considering that Hindi and Sanskrit were the only two langauges around, I dont see how you guys pull persian crap out of your *****....

Yes 98 % is very conservative number btw. I would say realistically 99.9% or urdu is copied from Hindi. The people of Uttar Pradesh where Urdu was invented did speak Hindi/Hindustani before. The language was first spoken in Uttar Pradesh, then it spread to Bihar. After that, it spread to Hyderabad. It subsequently spread to all of Central India like MP, Gujrat, Maratha, etc. Urdu at the long last came to Northwest India (present day Pak) in the late 1800s during British Raj, mostly a initiative started by the Britishers.

Even in Uttar Pradesh, where it was originally formed, it is pretty much dead. In India its only alive in some very Conservative muslim places, and among some very limited Hindu circles in Lucknow.

You my dear Sir Just earned the biggest facepalm of this year! All the great poets of Urdu. in 1800's Before britishers took over Indian sub continent. The Mughal Eraa where urdu language developed.

Urdu Main influence is Persian and Arabic, 99 Percent of Urdu alphabets are loaned from Arabic alphabets. Urdu absorb sanskirit words, not developed from sanskirit.

About married women having extra marital affairs, Men cheat on Women, women cheat on men. Do I agree with it? I wouldn't recommend cheating on your spouse because of the emotional pain.

Punjabi is poetic because of Pakistani punjabi sufis like Baba Farid, Bulleh Shah, Waris Shah etc They used arabic/persian words in punjabi and made it poetic. Malwi and Doabi punjabis hardly have anything to do with it. They started punjabi literature!

Urdu poetry is much more diverse than Punjaabi. Obviously you haven't read Mir taqi mir/ghalib/momin khan/ aatish/ faraaq gorakpuri/ Iqbaal or any other urdu poet.

Yes only during British rule. Tell me what ties except from sounding similar, all North Indian languages are similar to each other to high extent. most of the Punjabi Sufi saints of medieval era wrote in Punjabi and it got instantly neglected after British introduced Urdu in Punjab. Lahore became a center for Urdu literature during British era.



Hindi-Urdu and Punjabi sounds similar because both of them originated out of same language. I have heard lots of fake claims that Punjabi is a dialect of Urdu which is not true.

I posted this link, you should have read it to understand why Hindi/Urdu and Punjabi sounds so similar because both of them originated out of Shauraseni, ancestor of both Punjabi and Hindi/Urdu.

It didn't prove any contradiction, I said Urdu is from UP and Punjabi is from Punjab. Many of your Pakistanis comes with theory about nativity of Urdu to Punjab without having slight knowledge of history of North Indian languages and dialects. I have heard some poem of medieval Punjabi.

I do not know how old are you, but you do sound very naive and regional.

Perhaps the design or fashion followed in Indian Punjab these days is a bit different, but Shalwar evolved from Pyjama of Iran. Baloch and Pakhtun brothers have been using it for many centuries. That is from where we Punjabis got it. Punjabi word for Shalwar is "Suthhan" and its adoption occurred around the early part of last century. Before then Dhoti was the norm.

I admit I am partial to Punjabi for it being my mother tongue, but man you can not disrespect Urdu poetry just because you are more familiar with Punjabi. Urdu definitely has far more poetry to its name and in every mood and color. Punjabi poetry feels closer to heart, I admit. But Urdu is Urdu. Just to give you an idea, I can compose Urdu poetry with far more facility than Punjabi. Poetry is much easier to compose in Urdu.

Coming from a Punjabi who spoke no Urdu until admitted to school, this should open your eyes - and hopefully your ears too.
