So they were paying 2.5 million for each, now they building each one for 900,000 ? That's pretty much 1/3rd of the cost. Hopefully Iran will mass produce these in the very near future and create them for even less.

Iran realistically has the potential to have a large portion of its energy needs met by renewables. That would free up excess oil / natural gas that Iran is using up now for domestic consumption. That would allow Iran to either sell it, preserve it for future generations and it's a win-win for the environment in general.

These kind of projects along with water desalination plants to guarantee steady water in times of drought are excellent for the country.

So according to this site, Iran currently produces 92% of its electricity with non-renewable fossil fuels, 6% renewables but mostly with hydroelectricity, very little solar or wind. 2% with nuclear energy. Wait this is from 2016. i wonder what the current numbers look like. Iran needs to heavily invest in renewable sources of energy full speed ahead.

This is great stuff! Much more great than Gaddafis "Man Made River" cause Iran does not use the groundwater for it to green the central plateau. There are also other states in the ME who seems to have understood that this is the best way to develop its deserts. Same process is starting in Egypt too. And using renewable energy for the desalination completes this mission. Where Iran also made great process as we see the posts with the windmills also here in thread.
