Made in Iran

Interesting you put this video..two days ago I was updating the Thread in the "Middle east" section about Iran's Hi tech products (that is why I know this!)..there is a company in Iran that actually makes that SMD machinery and many more that they are using (there are 3 or 4 in a chain)...it is all part of a "Pick and Place" chain to do surface mount electronics PC board set up..so now we have the equipment maker and the equipement user both in Iran..A good sign when a country has become fully industrialized.:smitten:

Thanks for the info that is exactly the company I was talking about..
2 things u guys r missing in the fields of automation development, first one there is no industrial servo/actuator + driver manufacturing company like yaskawa, this causes difficulties developing automated systems like linear, parellel axis, 6r robots as well as industrial manufacturing machines, if one company of ur masters developing them the ecosystem of develiping such machines among startups and universities would be much more easier, at least cheaper in price.

The second one, very own versatile semiconductor and electronics industry, i know u have very good companies whos r profound in this field, yet development of specific sensors and embedded platform is what u need u right now.

ON the semi conductor you are correct at least on the commercial scale..(military we just do not know)..

On the servo/linear actuators do you mind to elaborate..how did you reach that conclusion.. I know Iran builds Flight simulators with 6 degree of freedom and advanced robots for the production floor and since I can not see any technical issue with developing such items..may be it is because they just have access to them outside (china) therefore no need to produce inside..I like to know the basis of views on that .

The price and availability depends on political situtaion, whem u import them, costs r comparatively higher, availability depends on political situation. Yess, in my company i used to order some yaskawa servoes with drives to prototype some custime machines , but the supplier already costs it 10% higher comparing the actual price even though they are japanese made and also have to add the import duty and the product MRP itself. My company handled it, but i was thinking if i was trying to develop a personal or grouped project, the cost for 8 of those servos almost made our project impossible to develop. If they were cheaper like cloths made in bd comparing other countries, we could develop a lot of projects as a startup and Universities could have availing em to students in a larger scale.

For example, when i started my terms in universities, due to being the first batch of the department and limited equipments we had hard time shearing our oscilloscope , we neither could afford to buy them in our peraonal level, bcz of cost, so lot of lackings in learning , difficulties for planning some related project that totally draged us down....

If u only can't do those kind of projects at enthusiasts and startup level rather under big companies the development ecosystem Will become narrower and lot of ideas wont materialized.

Yess if, Iranian enthusiasts or startups manage to buy those system at least 30% percent cheaper, u can expect some big ideas make into reality.


Only local manufacturing not only provide cheaper in price also design customereization as per necessity.

There is a large "Home based" industry in Japan..I was told once that many of Relays and switches that we were buying from lets say "OMRON" were actually made by moms and pops in their homes as per big companies spec sheets..so may be such a thing can take shape in Iran too..for Military applications it would be a whole new ball game..

The magical fact about shenzen almost every home itself is a industry and most of the family has their own business, any kind of of either trading, manufacturing, spear parts supply, a almost complte ecosyatem for project development, u get everything around u, cheaper and so much technically sound people and support.

Iran Standing among World Producers of Titanium Metal

TEHRAN (FNA)- The first contract for selling medical grade titanium rods produced by experts at the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) was signed with a company producing orthopedic implants, turning Iran into one of the world producers of titanium metal.

The expansion of titanium industry is due to its excellent mechanical properties, including low density (55% iron density) and high resistance to corrosion, which is a very good option for use in many industries like aerospace and medicine.
Pure titanium, grade 5 titanium, grade 5 medical titanium, or so-called grade 23, palladium and grade 12 titanium alloys are among the most widely used metals in this field.
One of the most important applications of titanium and its alloys is in medicine and dentistry. It is used in making implants, heart rate monitors, thigh legs or knee replacements, and generally as a prosthesis.
Metallic implants are commonly used in the orthopedic field. Despite the large number of metallic medical devices in use today, they are predominantly make up of only a few metals. Metallic alloys such as titanium continue to be one of the most important components used in orthopedic implant devices due to favorable properties of high strength, rigidity, fracture toughness and their reliable mechanical performance as replacement for hard tissues.
Orthopedic implants are medical devices used for the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases and may consist of a single type of biomaterial or comprise a number of different biomaterials working together in modular parts. Prime examples of titanium implants used in orthopedics would include prosthetic hip and knee replacements for various types of arthritis affecting these joints, spinal fusion instruments for stabilizing degenerate and unstable vertebral segments, and fracture fixation devices of various types such as plates, screws and intramedullary rods.
