First of all, in my opinion this issue is not off topic since this thread is about anything made in Iran.
I agree with you. This is what I'm saying. When it comes to the proliferation of weapons, there is a UN arms embargo on Libya anyways so sending weapons to Libya is technically illegal under international law, no matter how you want to look at it. In such a "grey zone" conflict acquiring weapons from Iran, another "grey zone", makes sense. UAE and Iran are geographically very close which makes transactions extremely easy. The more you think about it the more it makes perfect sense for Iran and UAE to do this.
For Iran it's a dream come true, super convenient, much needed revenue. Just ship the weapons across the Persian Gulf, not much risk either, no smuggling necessary. Just pure profit and it provides Iran with much needed funds, new markets to sell weapons and at the same time it helps Iran blunt Turkish influence.
It seems as if there's only positives in this for Iran. Of course again, UAE has lots of options when it comes to purchasing such weapons but with Iran being so close and with Iran being a major missile producer that can match or outbid any potential rivals it makes sense.
Now what I'm wondering is specifically which weapons or parts Iran is selling to the LNA via the UAE.
I suppose the low end Iranian arms are being sold in the international arms market via arms dealers. Country of origin does not matter ...price and quality are the major deciding factors.. Arab petro dollars are buying arms from these markets and ship them to whoever they want.. And yes we are going off topic in this thread..
