‘Made in Bangladesh’ smartphones to rule the roost soon

Actually Indonesian smart phone producers are not actually destroyed but their presents are not dominant anymore, and it happen since about 2-3 years ago. It is not because of Chinese companies set any factory here, they just sell their phone from China directly.

It is IMO due to import tariff which is set in zero after Asean China FTA becomes effective in 2012. It makes local brand has to compete directly with Chinese brand like OPPO that is now market leader in Indonesian smart phone market.

The FDI impact is actually more affecting our electronics giant like Polytron since Japanese and Korean set up their factories here. And it is also due to their brand image which is superior compared to our local brand.

Actually our biggest electronic company, Polytron is still exist, but they are not market leader anymore in Indonesia.

Other Indonesian electronic giant is Gobel Panasonic. A company made by Indonesian entrepreneur, Rahmad Gobel, but later merge with Panasonic from Japan.

Here is the example of Polytron new products:

Their smart phone

Thanks for the correction.

In BD local electronics company like Walton dominates the market despite the fact that brands like Samsung set up factories there and selling to local consumers.

BD only allowed in Samsung once it was confident the domestic companies could compete.

Lol. Thats not true. Your companies manufacture in the segment that is not attractive to Samsung or other Chinese manufactures. With only 7.5 million sales, whats the point in even trying?

Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, Samsung dominate in $150 - $200 market segment, not in sub $75 segment. Hopefully BD people will earn enough to move up the segment 'soon' (read Bangladesh soon).

I was talking about TVs - check out the high quality 1080p TVs that
Walton designs and manufactures.

Give me TV sales figures? Do you even sell 1 million Smart Tvs a year? Chinese and Koreans are into smart tvs these days. 1080p Tvs are 5 year old news. Today in India, we are talking about 4k smart tvs.

Just go to amazon.in and see Tv configurations.

Walton has one 4K TV but that uses a Chinese panel - not long before they have their own 4K panel.

Again with future tense. Why not talk about what they have already?

Just look at the pricing diffference in both our countries. A 65" inch ultra Hd tv comes for about 50k inr in India. In Bangladesh they are close to 200k taka. That is day light robbery. Who would buy TVs there? I am guessing TV sales could be less than motorcycle sales or close to it. INDIA sales are close to 50 million a year.

What future tense as 4K panel design and manufacture is natural progression to 1080p that BD’s Walton currently does. Once there is enough demand for 4K TVs in BD then Walton will design it’s own panels for them.
BD TV quality is good enough to sell into the German OEM market.
BD panel manufacturing is better than Indian.
Talk big when you can sell your TVs to a developed economy ok?

Oh wow. Natural progression. What happened to walton motorcycles. That was to be world beater. Lol.

Seven firms – Japanese brands Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, India’s Bajaj, TVS and Hero, and Runner Automobiles of Bangladesh – have made the country almost self-sufficient in motorbike manufacturing or assembly in the fast growing market.

Where is the natural progression here?

Ok.

Take out foreign companies and focus just on domestic companies.
I am also not interested in call centres as BD has no interest in this low skilled field.

Last fiscal BD domestic companies sold 1 billion US dollars of IT services and India did 8 billion US dollars. As India has slightly more than 8 times the population of BD, then per capita BD wins.
Please provide a link for this claim. TCS only dis a profit of 4.5 B dollars and revenue of 20.9 b dollars. Add infy and others.

What would be the export revenue when you take out call-centre work?
Read up about TCS you idiot.

TCS and its 67 subsidiaries provides a wide range of information technology-related products and services including application development, business process outsourcing, capacity planning, consulting, enterprise software, hardware sizing, payment processing, software management and technology education services.

Call centres are moving away from India to countries like Phillipines due to cost factor... TCS Call center less than 2-3% i believe. Call center boom in india has gone.
