It is always the case, that when from a batch of 3 stars, ones not promoted, opt for voluntary retirement. Nothing new.

Gen Azhar Abbas and Gen. Faiz Hameed announced their retirement. Which mean they are upset with appointment
of Gen. Aism Munir as army chief and seriously do not want him to lead Pakistan army.
This is a very big issue.
At the same time media is showing that Maj. Gen. Faisal Naseer( DG ISI ) has proved invelvement in murder of Arshad Sharif and attack on Imran Khan, Azam Sawati , Dr. Yasmin Rashid and Shehbaz Gill.
It is said that Maj. Gen Faisal Naseer is very close friend/relative of Gen Asif Bajwa and Ge. Asim Munir.
From open media , almost all Pakistani are furious, upset on above all. Today Pakistan Army General have lost respect and credibility among Pakistani inside and overseas.
Above General must be removed from Pakistan army now.

Faiz Hameed retired. Azhar Abbas retired.

They thought they’d get the role of Chief, they didn’t get, fair enough, so they retired. Happens all the time.

Amir (supposedly Zardari’s and Nawaz’s favourite) is still there. New guys will be promoted. Hope they learnt their lesson from Bajwa’s interference and correct their course.

Reportedly, Mir Bajwa's candidate for CJCSC was Sahir Shamshad, but for COAS, which is the real post, was Azhar Abbas, which was not acceptable to Mian NS. So they made their choice, which is Asim Muneer.

There's so much misinformation. I've also repeatedly heard the opposite: that Faiz wasn't invited.

This entire institution is becoming a farce. Hoping some miracle happens and Asim sets things straight, because PTI has no confrontational plans.

Only lesson they've learnt is that the better they stick the danda up the systems ***, the better control they have. It's naive to think anything will change.
