That are getting 350 plus so they get ToT aswell to increase in numbers in future afterwards..Unless a completely full scale war is blown out, most of the skirmishes will be limited to LoC region even if that involves using heavy weapons systems or aerial platforms. Anything south of Kashmir is way too precious for both of us considering the major population centers, particularly Pak's punjab, sindh provinces and India's Gujarat & Punjab which are very important for our political elite. Also the terrains are plains which will make it harder for light tanks to ward off ATGM & drone attacks. Every general has an opinion on how and where a particular weapons platform could be used but given the fact that PLA can deploy these light tanks in disproportionate numbers...I believe all 350 if procure will be dedicated to our eastern front
Sir t 59 is 1st generation tank which have completed there life right working on bonus ..What You Need to Know About China's New Tank
The Type 15 is designed to go into places bigger, heavier tanks can’t go.www.popularmechanics.com
The original t-59 is about 36 tons with 100 mm gun with fc for mountain ware fare on the western border
But I think with already built out fortifications and ATGW in place it’s wWI there [emoji6]
Worst case for Kashmir is much smaller border compare to indo China [emoji630]
Picking up a few t-15 a regiment or two about 60-80 will do
Ex indian general article which are shared, mentioned multiplu about eastern border and run of kuch for these placementThe mountain terrain where India and China will place light tanks and utilize them is different from that of LOC bordering India and Pakistan. Its better to place more tanks in Sindh region and exploit the desert terrain rather than pushing them up peaks through very narrow corridors.
it still does, I mean PLA after analysing, is being pessimistic about anything range under 5KM, which they believed the chance of survival for the ATGM unit are very low against morden MBT.Why according to previous zuhai Air show HJ-12 for export
ATGMs and Tanks are not completely interchangeable. In small skirmish, ATGM is good. While in medium and large war scenarios, ATGM survivability is not positive.I'd rather opt for an ATGM carrier similar to the M901ITV that can fire stronger ATGMs. It will outrange the tank and will also save on cost and weight.
Or invest in an type 16/centauro class vehicle. Nice 105mm gun with low weight and good mobility. But still the atgm carrier sounds cooler.
The light tank measures 7.23m-long and 3.45m-wide, and weighs up to 42t.TULPAR Light Tank (Turkey)

Rapidly deployable to far flung places and in some cases air transportable (Stryker MGS).Light tanks are actually very offensive weapons.

Light tank is designed for high terrain or soft muddy land, such as Vietnam, or Bangladesh, where has lots of rice field and creeks.I don't think Pakistan needs light tanks.Light tanks are actually very offensive weapons. The Chinese Type 15 is also deployed in offensive units. The Type 15 targets not enemy tanks, but armoured vehicles and unarmed troops. From the Chinese thinking, the enemy's main force will be hit by long range fire first. The light armoured force, led by the Type 15, then pursued the scattered enemy.Wheeled armoured units would quickly move behind the enemy's rear to cut off their retreat and establish a blocking position.Humvee-style light troops then clean up the battlefield.
Pakistan is on the defensive against India and needs a sufficient number of main battle tanks to maintain multiple defensive positions. It is a waste of resources to spend on light tanks.
It's just an opinion.Another opinion is that the 15 was specifically designed for overseas deployment. Because in many countries bridges can't exceed 40 tons. There are no real threats to China's own borders.Light tank is designed for high terrain or soft muddy land, such as Vietnam, or Bangladesh, where has lots of rice field and creeks.

Imagine a war zone in Africa or the Middle East where the 99A can only follow the ship slowly.A Y-20 can transport a Type 15 and a 04A. 30 Y-20 can deliver one armored battalion at a time.
Agree, Light tanks can be air lifted for quick deploymentRapidly deployable to far flung places and in some cases air transportable (Stryker MGS).
Never think of your enemy as stupid , specially in case of hindu baniyaThe logistical pressure in the remote area is too great.I don't think that's an effective strategy.Although light tanks can be transported by air, the cost of ammunition and fuel is also high. With months of preparation for any major conflict, the defenders are unlikely to be surprised.
Indian Army is stupid.Even if India buys light tanks, they still can't secure a supply line.If the tank is only used as a movable turret, the old tank is the best choice.
If our forces really want light tanks, then it can be provided to border based forces aswellIf we want to go for light weight Tanks then instead of Army they should be for Marines as well as Para Military Forces. Mainly Rangers of Sindh and Punjab and FC of KPK and Baluchistan.
