Lie One:

Squadron Leader Keelor was awarded a morale boosting Vir Chakra for downing a PAF Sabre - when in reality, IAF knew the plane had made it back.

Ajai Shukla wrote:

“After a quiet September 2, the IAF claimed its first kill on September 3, when Squadron Leader Trevor Keelor, flying a Gnat fighter, hit a PAF Sabre. The IAF, in need of something to celebrate, announced a “kill” and awarded the pilot a Vir Chakra. In fact the IAF knows that the Pakistani pilot, Flight Lieutenant Yusuf Ali Khan, nursed his damaged Sabre back to Sargodha air base.”

“Radio that the IAF’s Squadron Leader Keelor had been awarded a gallantly medal for destroying Yusuf’s Sabre – which, in fact, was getting a new elevator in a repair shop for the next day’s flight.” - taken from the book “Vigil in the Sky”

Lie Two:

In 1965 IAF claimed that it had shot down an entire squadron of PAF planes led by Squadron leader Sajjad Haider. A BBC TV team went looking for the truth and found Haider and his men alive and kicking. Their planes were intact.

Are there any more examples?

nothing has changed... india and it's F-16 story...

like grand pa , like father like son

lol

After 50 years, IAF finally admitted losing 35 aircraft in the first two days of war alone....the attack on Pathankot was conducted by none other than Sqn leader Sajjad Haider and his squadron.

''It was the first air battle between India and Pakistan. The Indian Air Force was numerically superior, with 28 combat squadrons to PAF’s 11, but it was saddled with technologically inferior fighters And, caught off-guard by the PAF offensive, India had lost 35 of its aircraft on the ground during pre-emptive strikes — one on Pathankot on September 6 and then on Kalaikunda, a day later.''

Plenty . A relative of mine was claimed dead on All India Radio while he was enjoying homemade food at Masroor.
Some PAF pilots were killed multiple times and the reason was just the Indians trying their best at propaganda.

half of the Indian battle focus was, is and will likely be propaganda for local consumption. Whether it’s because they are less accommodating to loss or life or otherwise is moot, they just need to lie to their population to keep a war effort going more than we do.

Well it seems like they are trying to emulate Uncle Sam.

Uncle Sam has checks and balances that get out despite our best attempts to paint them as “moral equals” on every level.

Every one is dirty, but Checks and Balances make a heck of a difference. Uncle Sam has those for its own casualties pretty well.

Us and the Indians don’t and hide those.

We saw the same happening last year too
Because that was the audience.
Our population has much more concrete trust in our military for social and political reasons than theirs does.

We are also numb to loss of life as a nation(not communities or individuals) versus them. 50 dead for us doesn’t elicit the same response as it does for them.

It’s not a good thing in general.

Exactly, thats why i said "they are trying" but are not really successful :yahoo:

Its impossible. Protocols and US media will never let it be.
Covert operations deaths are sometimes disguised as operational accidents but that is rare.

basically, unlike our military (because India is now trying that approach) - folks like the IDF will essentially bomb 20 civilians to get enemy combatants if need be and deal with the aftermath later through manipulation of narrative. We can be equally inhumane in certain areas if push comes to shove but are absolutely inept at it until recently

BBC: you've been shot down/killed 3 or 4 times now
Pak Shaheen: hehehehe!
..........................................
BBC: 2 of you were shot down yesterday
Shaheen: I don't think it's possible to be shot down by indians

PAF had only 1 squadron of F-86 that were equipped with AIM-9A which had only 10% accuracy which were designed to engage slow moving soviet bombers not fighters. Starfighters were by no means a dogfighter which were mostly used for rec and deep airspace penetration. It was IAF that was numerically and technically superior with Hunters and Gnats. Both fighters replaces F-86 in Royal Air force and India is complaining that PAF 1940s F-86 were superior to IAF.
