Just my opinion, maybe there is an ample supply of officers that are anti Sharifs and they want to retain whatever support that remains.

Also, if people do not have confidence in a nation's Parliament making laws to be signed by the President who is the Commander in Chief of the Armed forces, they should change the Constitution and get a different form of Government. You can't simultaneously support the Constitution and complain when things are done according to Constitution. If this Act is Unconstitutional, you can go to Supreme court to get it quashed.

You raise good points.

The point is the Parliament is supreme and it’s leader, the Prime Minister, should be given powers to select his/her own cabinet and the service Chiefs.

The problem is when the PM or President is allowed to retain Officers who’re working under the Service Chiefs.

The person in power needs to be given full authority and with it accountability. If he/she is not performing their duty then they should be fired.

How can you hold one accountable when the PM is given a free hand to retain officers working under the Chief.

It is reminiscent of your boss giving you full authority but given free reigns to tamper with your subordinates. If something goes wrong, can you be held accountable.
