What's new

Lata Mangeshkar passed away.

.
.
A great star of the singing world of the sub continent. She was in love with Ustad Salamat Ali Khan but both were unable to get a hold of each other due to religious and cultural issues at that time.

she had good voice i will give that to her, but she hated Pakistan and Muslims so as far as i am concerned a big MEH !!!!

That's what I say. She was a Hindutva extremist or had affiliations with the murderous RSS fascists.

Hopefully she is "reincarnated" as the lowest caste. Pakistani Neoliberals who love Hindutvaism and hate Pakistan will cry for her.

I have a problem with your post and I mean it with the deepest of respect and consideration for your right to have an opinion.

I agree with you that she had talent, i grew up listening to gems she sang but like i mentioned she had hatred towards us and that's the only reason she is getting reciprocal treatment from me (and lets be honest i was being extremely polite in expressing myself). There are many like Sonnu Nigam and few others that i like.

My reasoning is simple i.e. respect is a two way street, hope you understand my point of view?

By the way, what's this bit about her sister?

She was indeed a legend and regined for over half a century but at the same time she made sure that no one competes or surpasses her, in 80s she played a prominent role in making sure that Nazia Hassan doesn't gets a foothold in Indian music and film industry.

Seriously??...Nazia Hasan was a pop singer....they are leagues apart in style of singing...Asha Bhosle would have been a better excuse.

.
On a world stage, my most humble opinion is that talent should be separated from Personality and religious beliefs.

Separate talent and personality when the deceased was involved in demolition of Babri Mosque and death of thousands of muslims???

Not to forget she was a big Savarkar fan too

Trends were changing in the 80s , her break through in film Qurbani and subsequent Albums were massive hits in the sub continent.
