Larsen & Toubro wins $250m Oman gas contract
Indian contractor Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won a $250m order from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) to work on a gas extraction project.
The company has picked up an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) deal for the Yibal third-stage depletion compresson project at the Yibal-Nabith sweet gas reservoir.
The work, which will last for 29 months, will see L&T install a facility to boost pressure at the reservoir, which has been operating since 1972.
L&T said the work follows on from two other projects being carried out for PDO - the Lekhwair Gas Field Development Project and the Saih Rawl Depletion Compression Project.
The company has also recently won a number of infrastructure contracts in Oman, including a $352m deal for the fourth package of the Batinah Expressway.
