Rehman Malik says Lahore is in a 1965 like situation...

He says: We'll need to unite like we did then to battle "this enemy".

He says LeT, JeM, LeJ are being used by forces outside the country. He asks the country not to show any more polarization and unite together in fighting the enemy.

Do you guys know how close is this school from the Wagah border?

Has he said the BOLDED part seriously? Or it is slip of tongue?

Geo TV has made a good suggestion, the terrorists are wearing Police uniforms and may try to escape with the hostages.

Does this mean we will have to search for links across the border.

Geo TV made him repeat it twice or thrice actually.

Rehman Malik has no credibility in Pakistan though. He has no official governmental position, just a role as "Advisor" but he is the second strongest person in Pakistan after Zardari.

So India is behind all of this?

If India is doing this, then they're really dumb because they are destabilizing the region and endangering themselves!

Gun battle at Pakistan police academy

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- Pakistani authorities remained locked in a fierce gun battle with armed attackers who threw grenades inside a police training center Monday and then stormed the facility, firing at officers who were taking part in their morning drill.

Television footage showed a chaotic scene around the police training facility in Lahore.

The attack in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore killed at least 10 people, police told CNN.

Some local media placed the number as high as 20, adding that dozens of others had been wounded in the attack at the school in the Manawan area of the city. About 400 officers train at the facility.

Lahore is the same city where, earlier this month, gunmen opened fire on a bus carrying members of the Sri Lankan national cricket team on their way to a stadium for a match.

In Monday's incident, attackers hurled grenades, then stormed the compound and opened fire, police said.

More than an hour later, several attackers were holed up inside, trading gun fire with police.

Pakistan's Geo-TV, a CNN affiliate, showed uniformed officers running for cover as a series of gunshots rang out. At least three were shown sprawled on the ground.

Soon afterward, members of the Pakistan Rangers paramilitary force descended upon the area in full force. A crowd that had gathered outside cheered them on with shouts of "Long live Pakistan, Long live Lahore" and "God is Great."

The attack on the Sri Lankan national cricket team took place on March 10 when the players were on their way to a stadium for a match.

The well-coordinated attack wounded at least eight members of the team and killed a driver and six Pakistani police officers.

Any way leave this thing the statement is totally baseless. Let's pray for the guys who are cought in cross fire. Hope some hero emerge as these guys are trainees and some body stood up to the situation and kill/ capture some terrorists.

It should be looked into. Its a repeat of the Mumbai attack...

India wants to keep Pakistan on the boil.

GeoTV is reporting that the training and skill level of the hostage takers is looking like the same as the SL attackers and might have some of those people in there too.

I think the people need to be pushed further back or else the hostage takers might escape!

Yes but the Rangers and Police officials were already screening ANY cadet who's been able to come out of the mayhem so hopefully, the Terrorists wouldn't escape in that manner.
