and well being a human isnt part of your nature I guess since you prefer referring to yourself as a tigerNops, a woman who usually speaks and thinks from wrong side....Btw tigeresses are known for not using common sense, thats why bulk of the hunting is done by tigers
So currently (without this motorway), 50% of pakistan (karachi) consumes 100% of the country's imports, since you are implying that lahore is not connected to karachi ?
The already existing national highway is what currently connects lahore to karachi by road and of course, there's the not so efficient railway.
That's how all of the goods imported through karachi's ports goes to the rest of the country.
Now I don't know what this new motorway project actually is. Whether it's upgrading of the existing highway or a new one built from scratch. But unless they can show a feasibility study that shows that existing network is already over-burdened or a demand forecast that exceeds current capacity, there really is no need for this motorway, especially if its a completely new one. Usually what they do in such projects is simple, rig the demand projections in feasibility studies, problem solved.
how much will it cost to maintain these highways? do we generate enough to do so?
They are already connected, read my other post above...
Or else how do you think the major textile export industry in punjab exports its goods and the rest of the country imports goods using karachi's ports ? It's the national highway.
I am objecting the road. Read above posts....
Well lets just say I only argue with people who have enough background and understanding of discussion, not driven by blind and raw emos.and well being a human isnt part of your nature I guess since you prefer referring to yourself as a tiger
@WebMaster @Horus @WAJsal @Slav Defence @Manticore @Jungibaaz @Jango it isnt his first time nor his first thread where he has shown off his male hormones of not withstanding a woman capable of questioning his masters!
no one is objecting to the road except those cheering for it are ASSUMING IT...Everyone is objecting to the costs!
Of course you will say priorities and you will be right but I will say part of priorities and I will also be right but that doesn't mean they say road and leave .. They need to give education and health just as much priority and need to focus on these section as south Punjab and north sindh are in a bad state and again I will raise the point of incompetent provincial govts as well.
theoretically, yes...but the motorways we already have, havent been maintained as per theoryAnd as I said in my posts if costs are higher than they should be than te govt is answerable and need to bring proper cost cutting methods make sure we build and maintain these roads at an economical cost that will allow quality as well.
Do you really think that current highway is enough? I mean seriously?

would fixing the old roads have been cheaper than making a whole new one?Of course they are already connected as lahore and sheikhupura were connected through gt road national road before motorway 2. However the national roads are often a disgrace on the name of roads ( previous govt faults which were ironically theirs) and these motorways provide a very quick passageway for transportation. I know you will say that national roads must be upgraded which they should but greater number of roads means greater accessibility and more connectivity. The cities sorrounding lahore became very connected after motorway to such an extent that lahore has a massive commuting population that enter and leave using both access points and both these points are choked with people leaving and entering...
The motorway must have various connection points towards various cities so that a better connective connection is created...
