For India and Pakistan poverty is undeniable fact which should be taken seriously. Slums are reality too.

Very true!

Its amusing however that with large number of Slums the Indians always look for comparison with Pakistan

And we find it amusing some Pakistanis goad Indian slum conditions despite, having greater percentage of their population living in slums.

Besides, Check who brought the topic of slums here, it wasn't an Indian.

I know a few communist(older folks) from the 70's and 80's when naxalite movement was at peak in Punjab. They made a lot of money by looting people but the only thing they still believe in is,there is no god.

The international poverty line defined by world bank is $1.25 (PPP)

The Indian Planning Commission in Mar 2012 released the latest poverty estimates for the country showing a decline in the incidence of poverty by 7.3 per cent over the past five years and stating that anyone with a daily consumption expenditure of Rs. 28.35 and Rs. 22.42 in urban and rural areas respectively is considered to be living above the poverty line.

The international poverty line defined by World Bank is $1.25 = 69.27 Indian Rupees

1 US Dollar = 55.74 Indian Rupees

India regularly manipulates its definition of people living below the poverty line and keeps on fooling its own people and the rest of the world.

You can draw your own conclusions Sir.

International agencies use $1.25 as the threshold....there always a mention if they are calculating poverty at national threshold.
