Islamabad—Netherland‘s renowned KEMA International Laboratory on Saturday evinced keen interest in assisting the National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDCL) in up-gradation and capacity building of its High Voltage and Short Circuit (HV&SC) Laboratory. The company spokesman said here that Executive Vice President of KEMA Lab Jacob Pieter Fonteijne, who hailed from Holland on the invitation of NTDCL, visited HV&SC Laboratory Rawat, and had briefings with NTDCL Managing Director Dr Fiaz Chaudhry along with general managers of various formations of the NTDCL.

During the briefing, Dr Fiaz Chaudhry said that NTDC was availing all opportunities for strengthening its transmission network with an aim to meet the increasing demand of electricity. He said that there was 26,000-MW indentified hydropower potential in northern areas of Pakistan and NTDC was expanding its system with 765 AC and 660 kV in the south DC transmission lines and converter stations accordingly. The technical prowess and cooperation extended by KEMA Lab would be an advantage for said projects, he added.
