Kayanis gamble: Pakistan pulls back troops from Indian border

Most of the formations committed to the war in terror are from the Army Reserve North (1 Corps) and the Army Reserve South (II Corps) and also, the XI Corps which has a dual task. Very little if any has moved from the holding/pivot corps. The gaps left (if any) can easily be covered by realigning the inter formation boundaries, also, since the armored and mechanised formations are intact, they can cover the gaps effectively and also react rapidly to emergencies.
On the whole, the Pakistani Army's defensive posture has not been compromised by this supposed redeployment. Yes, the ability to counter attack or riposte would be affected but the pivot corps are expected to hold the line for long enough. Also, the PAF remains intact. My view is therefore that the thread title is an exaggeration. Typical media sensationalism carried out without any analysis by people who know nothing about defence matters.

Having said that, I sincerely wish that Pakistan wins this war on terror on its soil. That will make life safer for us too. India is not planning to go to war with Pakistan any time soon.

i dont. if they win this war they will again destabilize india with terror , fake notes etc. its in our interest to keep them occupied internally. thats why we shold keep as many troops of pakistan in indian border at the same time, we should somehow support ttp

this is a good move in my opinion, india isnt going to attack anytime soon because they have a booming economy which they dont want to retard, hence they will be more worried about their own, and pakistan it seems is taking full advantage of this and taking out the terrorists for once and for all. NICE MOVE CHIEF!

That may be true. If I were the indian general i would call the bluff, and take out the mountain lairs of the terrorists. the real fact is, pak army has no nukes, they are showing dummy piece and bluffing. go in india.
the funny thing is both of us want to take out terrorists. i think we should cooperate

Pakistani forces are flexible - in a crunch situation we can redeploy our forces within a matter of days, we can start calling up our reservists - and of course our missile and air forces are their - lets not suffer from paranoia.

You have your history wrong!! In 48, 65 , 99..you were the one who started the war, which always ended in you not meeting any of your objectives ..It was in 71 and 84 ..we went on offensive and rest is history.

The Pakistanis will say you started it, the indians will disagree, let's agree to disagree.

sad bro for a piece of land 2 nations are ready to wipe each other from the face of the earth that god created for men & women to live together peacefully and yet we call ourselves civilised.

history will judge us and all this chest thumping that we are doing towards each other will be quoted by our posterity as fools quote.
HOPE WE HAVE OUR POSTERITY CONTINUE AND NOT NUKE THEM BEFORE GIVING THEM AN OPPORTUNITY!!!!!!!!!!!!

you are either retarded or ignorant, hence i am not going to make thnigs clear to you, but just a hint, is the world crazy for making such a noise over the safety of pakistans nukes?

I hope this is not true. One cannot trust the bharatis. This nonsense about bharat not striking first defies all reality. They were not too far away from making 'surgical strikes' not too long ago. We need the current the number of troops we have at least.
