KAVERI ENGINE by GTRE (CASE STUDY)

LCA MK2 will be powered be GEF414 engines but when the engines need to be replaced they will be replaced by the Kaveri MK2 expect to see Kaveri MK2 on AMCA and LCA MK2 by the end of this decade

Hmn I see... I would not like to see anything less than a 110Kn Kaveri engine on a Medium weight twin engined stealth Aircraft.

No Tejas Mk2 will have GEF engines only..... kaveri would be used on AMCA....

Yes AMCA would feature a Kaveri generating 110-120 kN wet thrust and about 75 kN Military thrust..... thanks to scema core and bigger and stronger blades !!

yeah but when the LCA MK2 needs engine replacements the Kaveri MK2 will replace the GE's

But 95 kN would still be less than 105+ kN which the GEF414 generates hence its better to leave kaveri to power a twin engine aircraft..... where two smaller engines could do the job...... unlike tejas MK2 which would house a bigger GEF414...... remember M-88 on rafale smoke out only 75 kN in wet thrust however it is abou 100kgs lighter than kaveri..... perhaps.

the plans are to replace the GEF414 (once they're lives are over) with the Kaveri MK2 thats why i am wondering what is the goal thrust for Kaveri MK2? 100kn???

The 100 kN goal is with K10 which would be completed for induction only by 2020 to be earliest the AMCA prototypes would use 90 kN kaveri by the time the K10 prototypes complete capability testing and reliability tests....Tejas MK2 would be completing its production.... i.e around 2023 perhaps.

LCA MK2 will start mass production in 2017 bro....

wait a minute please explain to me what is k10 k9 Kaveri MK2?

K-9 is the present version which powered the IL -76 , we are developing a K-10 engine with the help of Snecma core which will give 100Kn thrust.

oooooooo so K10 is the real deal mkay yeah K10 can also be called Kaveri MK2 correct?

i hope K10 achieves thrust of 110kn at least but definitely over 100kn for sure LCA MK2 will be fitted with the K10 engines in the future along with the AMCA

k10 is the programe coupling schema core with original Kaveri reducing the weight, using lighter stronger alloys and composites..... goal is to achieve 110+ kN wet thrust.

k9 Mk2 is improvement on original program without any help.....and achieving 95kN maximum with wet thrust and reduced weight, the core would be the indigenous Kabini.

k10 would see its services on AMCA and other future projects while k9 would be technology demonstrator.

However k9 Mk2 would come to life if it would be integrated with Rafael/EF2000 of the MMRCA..... all depends on the progress of k9 and the will of our AF.

Kaveri MK 2 is nothing but the K-10 engine.. Hoping to see K-10's on LCA mk 2 and AMCA.
