Jordan was under Ottoman Empire. Are there any buildings or museums there of that era?

Embracing make-believe is a greater comfort to Arabs. Consider BE's quoted history, which cites no link between modern-day Jordanians and the monuments left by previous civilizations.

So what is your link to ancient lands of Israel, the Promised Land which you believe is current Israel? Its a very skewed and illogical analogy. Just because Jews used to live here thousands of years ago doesn't make them natural claimants of the lands they have occupied and forcefully built their homes?

Its like saying since Muslim ruled Andlusia for 800 years, Muslims from all over the world be shipped to Spain to occupy, force evacuate the Spanish and reclaim what was the most illustrious part of Muslim history.

If Jordan cant claim whats in its borders, Israel cant even claim what its borders are. As it has no borders, its an illegal occupation and nothing else.

"Natural claimants of the lands" wasn't the Zionists' argument nor demand. Originally Zionists purchased land from Arabs to settle upon.

With the establishment of the Mandate "state" lands formerly owned by the Ottomans became available.

When hundreds of thousands of Arabs turned hostile and fought or fled in armed revolt in '47 rather than live in peace with the Jews, they forfeited their civil and property rights under the Mandate. (By no means did all Arabs do so, and those that did retain their property and civil rights - Israel remains 20%+ Arab.)

Perhaps the departure of hostile Arabs need not have created a permanent problem but the surrounding Arab states who encouraged the militancy and departure would neither accept the revolted Arabs for resettlement, nor allow their peaceful Jewish population to remain undisturbed and kicked these into Israel, where the only alternative to national starvation (since the Arabs blockaded many foodstuffs) was to settle on the abandoned Arab villages themselves, while the "refugees" and their descendants were left to fester and multiply in welfare-supported settlements. Property seized from departed Jews was used by the powerful to prop up their control over the weak. (That's the general case; I've read that in Syria some property owned by Jewish organizations was turned over to Palestinian Arabs. In Lebanon some of the exiled Jews, through intermediaries, collect rents and Lebanon has rebuilt the synagogue damaged during its civil war, even though no Jews I've heard of worship there.)

If Jordan cant claim whats in its borders, Israel cant even claim what its borders are. As it has no borders, its an illegal occupation and nothing else.
Can I even count the ways this paragraph is in error? Who says Jordan can't "claim whats in its borders"? Did you know Jordan has a peace treaty with Israel? Borders are only rarely determined by international treaty; rather, they are finalized by mutual agreement between neighbors. Does the lack of an agreed-upon border in Kashmir mean Pakistan's army illegally occupies northwest India?

They are few since our areas were neglected, so our people either were Biduins living in tents or villagers living in scattered and small villages in houses made of mud. However, I took my high school study in an Ottoman building called Saraia, which was turned into a school called Hassan Kamel Al Sabbah:

Well I m going there in May now. How is early May weather there? :)

The weather is great nowadays, best places to visit are Amman, the Dead Sea, Aqaba, Ajloun castle, Jarash and Petra. And BTW, don't get wondered whenever you see people frowny, because this is how they are, nothing personal..

Plz, don't ruin this thread with such a nonsense, Arabs who sold their lands (and they are few since villagers didn't use to sell their lands no matter what as it was shameful to sell your land or your weapon), but those who sold their lands, did so to a third party which Jews are the real buyers as they know, they wouldn't get it if they buy it directly. Most of the lands were stolen after displacing their people.

You guys have such audacity in your logic, it's like you are saying that since Algerians bought allot of houses in France, they have the right to displace French and take over their country...

Which is why many Arab villages remain in Israel today, yes.

Funny how nobody ever seems to name exactly who the "third party" often was and how they could get away with it, yes?

How dearly we cling to our fictions, and how little effort most people make at clearing these away!

You guys have such audacity in your logic -
Thank you.

By buying housing from the French and raising kids in France the "Algerians" are in the very act of "displacing" the French. Yet I recall one French minister in the 1990s explaining the education system this way, that immigrants may have come from Algeria but once they settle in France they are expected to become Gauls. It may sound ludicrous to you and me but the attitude can be understood by recalling that the invading Franks adopted the Roman-Gallic culture in the 6th century and France successfully assimilated the Vikings who conquered Normandy in the 9th century within three generations.
