The Jordanian parliament has voted to expel the Israeli ambassador to Amman and recall the country’s envoy to Tel Aviv.

The 150-member Lower House of Parliament unanimously demanded the government to ask the Israeli ambassador to leave Jordan, and recall the Jordanian ambassador to Israel, Jordan's media reported on Wednesday.

The MPs said they took the decision due to Israel’s recent aggression against al-Aqsa Mosque in East al-Quds (Jerusalem).

AMMONNEWS - Jordan's government summoned the Israeli Ambassador on Wednesday after members of the Lower House of Parliament voted unanimously to demand the government expel the ambassador and recall Jordan's Ambassador in Tel Aviv over escalating Israeli violations in occupied Jerusalem.

Interior Minister Hussein Majali and acting foreign minister summoned Israeli Ambassador Daniel Nevo on Wednesday, and expressed Jordan's denunciation and rejection over the storming of dozens of Jewish settlers into Al Aqsa Mosque, attacking worshippers, and preventing Muslim worshippers under the age of 50 from entering the Mosque.
The Minister also voiced rejection of Israel's arrest on Wednesday of Jerusalem's Mufti Mohammad Hussein, who was released later on Wednesday evening.
"Such Israeli actions violate international laws and obstruct peace efforts. As occupying forces, Israel is responsible for preventing such provocations. Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa are a red line," Majali said.
Majali asked Nevo "to convey this message to his government in a very clear way," Petra reported.

The non-binding vote came in response to "Israeli occupation measures at Al-Aqsa mosque" in the Old City, in occupied Jerusalem.

The Lower House of Parliament voted unanimously on Wednesday to ask the government to expel the Israeli Ambassador in Amman, and recall Jordan's ambassador in Tel Aviv in objection of Israeli attacks in occupied Jerusalem.

The vote comes after deliberations Wednesday morning over the latest wave of Israeli violations in in Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories.

Members of Parliament denounced the continued storming of Jewish settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The occupation forces prevented citizens from both genders who are under the age of 50 years from entering the Mosque, yet allowed Jewish settlers to break into Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem on Tuesday, in the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the so called "the reunification of Jerusalem" under the protection of Israeli soldiers and policemen and toured the place.

Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour described the ongoing and escalating attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli forces and settlers as "premeditated and foretells of evil intentions."

Ensour said that the cabinet addressed the Israeli actions in a meeting Wednesday morning, and agreed to direct Jordan's Ambassador in Tel Aviv Walid Obeidat to file an official objection to the Israeli government "as a first measure," followed by resorting to the UN Security Council if matters escalate.

MPs however went further to demand recalling Jordan's ambassador back to Amman and expelling the Israeli ambassador here, voting unanimously on the matter to be formally proposed to the government by the Arab and International Affairs House committee.

Over 25 MPs signed a petition to reconsider the 1994 Wadi Araba Peace Treaty between Jordan and Israel, citing the cause to be the continued Israeli violations in Palestine and voicing Jordan's denunciation.

In their speeches, MPs demanded a "strong response" from the Jordanian government, and called for limiting Israeli air force's use of Jordanian airspace, particularly in light of the recent Israeli airstrike attacks on Damascus.

Israeli President calls for calm amid Jordan diplomatic uproar

AMMONNEWS - Israeli President Shimon Peres reportedly sent a calming message to Jordan on Wednesday, after the Jordanian parliament voted in favor of expelling the Israeli ambassador from Amman and recalling the Jordanian ambassador from Israel.

"Jerusalem is dear to us, the peace with Jordan is dear to us," the president said at a ceremony commemorating Jerusalem Day at Ammunition Hill, The Jerusalem Post reported.

The Jordanian Lower House of Parliament voted unanimously on Wednesday to ask the government to expel the Israeli Ambassador to Jordan, Daniel Nevo, and recall Jordan's Ambassador in Tel Aviv Walid Obeidat.

The non-binding measure comes in response to repeated and escalating Israeli violations in occupied Jerusalem, allowing Jewish settlers to storm into Al Aqsa Mosque while occupation forces prevented Muslim worshippers under the age of 50 from entering the Mosque.

Later on Wednesday, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry summoned Israel's Ambassador and expressed Jordan's denunciation and rejection of Israeli violations in the occupied territories.

In response to Jordan's measures, Peres reportedly assured Jordan that Israel will honor its agreements with Jordan, and will ensure all worshipers from all religions could pray in their respective holy sites.

"I want to say this loud and clear - we will respect all religions' holy places and will do everything to maintain [worshipers'] security," he said, according to the Jerusalem Post.

Acting Foreign Minister and Minister of Interior Hussein majali, who summoned the Israeli envoy, pointed out that the Israeli settlers' continued and systemized aggression against holy places confirmed their intention to raise tensions, increase violence in the region, and abort peacemaking efforts that aim to resolve the Palestinian–Israeli conflict and establish the independent Palestinian state, with east Jerusalem as its capital, Jordan News Agency Petra said.

"These serious and systematic aggressions are a clear violation of international conventions and are a gross violation of international law and international humanitarian law," the minister said.

The government, he added, considers the violations against Al Aqsa Mosque to be serious and of critical importance, and it believes that the action of large numbers of settlers storming through the holy place is an indicator of the settlers’ malicious, premeditated intentions.

The Jordanian government expects the Israeli government, as the occupying force, to shoulder the responsibility for preventing such provocative acts and has demanded preventive action to guard against similar violations in the future, the Minister told the Israeli envoy.

"Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque are a red line for Jordan," Majali affirmed.

The minister asked the envoy to deliver the message to the Israeli government through diplomatic channels, and he, in turn, vowed to personally carry the message.

Earlier in the day, Jordan’s diplomatic efforts, through the Jordanian embassy in Tel Aviv, resulted in the release of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Mohammad Hussein.

No one is erroneously reporting that he has been expelled.

Only the Mullah's propaganda outlet.

press tv sometimes makes propaganda and avoids to say what happens inside.
but sometimes they just copy the news. like here.

and NO press tv is not owned by mullahs .
by the way there is a difference between a government without mullahs and some other positions with mullahs.
"mullah" is a word for kids to summarize Iran. it is just a little bit more complicated than this ;)
