JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

That is Ridiculous after purchasing these platforms we need permission to integrate weapon systems limits our load kit what can and can’t be don’t.

This constant lamenting on what you/PAF needs - or better wants - against what it gets is honestly a stupid discussion. First of all it is a common procedure, and even most countries delivering such systems rarely offer this option even to their closest alley. USA and Israel might be an exception, but isn't this always one?

Otherwise, it all depends on the payment. If you pay for the full package, you probably get more than when you don't or - like several kids or fan boys also constantly do here - think everything from China is for free.

hi

the integration of new weapons is a part and should be a part of equipment addition contract

now as both china and pakistan are partners in jft there is no question of “permission” needed.

it is information shared.

I don't think after making two variants of REK, RA'AD-I and II cruise missiles and H-2 and H-4 in house production it will be difficult for AWC to design new powered or glide SOW for JF-17.

It seems the main issue of RA'ÁD missiles are related to its air frame which in my opinion are

- Related to wide horizontal stabilisers at its rear section near exhaust
- Pop-out air intake at the bottom

So to make the RA'AD missile compatible with JF-17 redesign of these sections of air frame should do the job and in this case it is not like that we have to invent such solutions which were never think or used before, we have examples of

- X-type cross stabilisers against Horizontal stabiliser and
- Side Air intakes to turbojet engine

Examples of X-type cross stabilisers

- Examples of Side Air intake

other than this we should keep in mind that there is option of GB-6A cruise missile which is a version of GB-6 glide dispenser from China exist which if required can be used as stopgap solution ....

The solution will be from SA and they are already in the pipeline.

When Pakistan will be partner in Aircraft Engine production.

Hi,

There is actually no reason to partner in an engine production.

Engine building is a massive investment and the failure would result in a massive loss of time and money---AND WOULD LEAD YOU TO NO OPTION ELSEWHERE.

Stay away from a new fighter engine production---focus on a JV on building the new fighter---and let the engine specialists do what they do the best---build a capable quality aircraft engine---.

In its earlier stages of production---Hyundai bought their engines from Mitsubishi---Nissan truck sbought their diesel engines from Hino---.

Look at BOEING or AIR BUS---. Ask what is the reason that these giants don't produce their own aircraft engines---and neither does embraer or any other aircraft manufacturer produces engines---and neither do any other aircraft manufacturers in US / France / UK / Russia / Sweden produce their own engines---.

Hi,

Two important things have happened amongst many others since feb 26th to the JF17 and the enemy does not know what to believe in---.

The first news comes out from the mouth of the ISPR general---" the JF17 shot down two enemy aircraft "---and secondly that news was redacted---.

Now just because the news got redacted does not mean it did not happen---even though it might not have happened---. So---a confusion has been created in the enemy ranks---.

The JF17 spearheaded the strike---air to air & air to ground on the 27th---that by default meant that the aircraft was and is a capable aircraft to take on the enemy's front line aircraft---.

If there were issues with the aircraft---or if the performance was not above par---why would Paf send this aircraft on the front line and then to be embarrassed later on for any failures---.

And the failure would have literally destroyed any legitimacy the JF17 had build up over the years
---.

So---whomsoever is stating that this aircraft is not as capable as the SU30 or the Mirage 2000-5 or other air crafts in this class is either being prejudicial in analysis---or just being simply clueless---.

As for western electronics for this aircraft---they are extremely welcome by the chinese---. The Chinese have no objection or have no say if Paf gets european EW package.

If Paf wants and is happy with the european package---the chinese would go beyond the call of duty to ensure that the integration works---.

February 26th and acquisition of indian occupied Kashmir has shaken up many a sleepers in china---.

It is now whatever pakistan needs---it is whatever pakistan wants---there is no COST INVOLVED for any weapons procurement from china---.

So---I recommend the @WebMaster and the moderators @The Eagle @waz to reprimand anyone from today on wards who brings up " pakistan has no funds to pay for weapons to china "---.

That misunderstanding was cleared up one more time by the chinese leadership---. Pakistan has been given a carte blanche by the chinese on the choice of weapons needed in the chinese production line---or from available in service stocks.

8 Submarines---4 Type 054's---and any equipment needed---does that show MONEY being an issue for Pakistan or China asking for FUNDS---?

Those spreading the "no funds-no weapons " news are indirectly trying to create UN-REST and INSECURITY in the country---.

I request the members on this forum to confront those members and give them a shut up call.

You bring up a very good point -- has any Chinese Defense Analysts (reputable), written about Article 370 and implications for China going forward. I have a feeling that even China was some what caught off guard by this move.

If you look at it the BJP had a party agenda and promised this would happen -- did Pakistan & China failed in thinking it'll be carrier out? Even the common man would have told you it'll happen -- and even I predicted or said awhile back the Indians would go the Israeli route and lo-behold the Indian High Commissioner said we should follow that model.

Personally, theirs no way to resolve this issue besides a massive conflict to retake IoK or we leave them to their fate and they go the Palestinian route.

You have nailed it on the head. However, please note your own last sentence. If you can see the context of my post, see the maps of Israel in 1947 when i t was formed , 1967/68 after the youm kepour war and now to see how much of a difference htere is. to clarify it furhter if we decide to sit quiet we will have the same fate as Palestine. This is also a stated policy of the Far Right Indians so will it come true as well and we will sit and wait to be annexed? This situation is a very complex quagmire. I dont think the Hindutva radicals will stop at annexing just IOK. TYhey will next come for GB and the n Azad Kashmir.

Not for the next decade! At least.

I think maybe aircraft coming out of overhaul. This one looks to have a similar color for the nose cone.

Seem like PAF is testing the scheme more than anything else. Even the new production aircraft that come out in 2019 have the older grey cone
