Where is 190+km coming from? Source please. The last time the manufacturer mentioned range, they said 170?

Thanks

There has been some concern expressed about the source of the South African weaponry. There has been some problems with various issues whicb hqs cahsed the Pakistani establishment to take a step back. Things are taking off but personally there is little that SA (meant with the utmost of respect for SA and its industrial base) will offer us and we will buy from them. There are cogent financial reasons as well as SA cant offer any finance. Turkey has long term brotherly relations with Pak and therefore the bonds of trust are stronger. However negotiayions have been slow but coming along nicely. Pak still has China to rely on . There are very many tracks and slippery slopes which the 2 countries have travelled together and this will continue. The dynamics of the relationship is unique.
A
we know about the source of most of south african weapons but why problems, is the source pressurizing south africa or are we worried about arabs or is it a security concern

i do believe turkey is good option too, issue will be how much experience they have in developing such weapons (vs south africa already producing well known SAMs and previous AAM) and how much are they looking for JV rather than same off the shelf purchase

i would like Armed forces to move towards indigenization and exports rather than looking at purely off the shelf solutions

Someone on the post of KLJ-7A replied this

1000 T/R modules Range: 170 km Can track 15 targets and engage 4 simultaneously

IMO, 1,000 t/r module range = 300kms ~ 350km

As always, I am open to correction.

Btw good to see you after so long.

In that case, it would be right beside the Eurofighters captor in regards to range.
Captor AESA apparently has 185-300+ kms depending on target RCS.

170km is very good range for a light combat fighter class and definitely give extra teeth to the fighter having 3m^2 RCS of its own
