JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

Yup, happens all the time.

Hope you know the difference between show boating for the audience and marketing for potential customers... get the drift.

I have been called worse things....by better people. :-)

For a moment I thought I was back into my Moral Science class of school!
It's never too late to learn. :D
First I dont hate you or Pakistan(but terrorists), there are plenty of good people, innocently wonderful people, generous people who dont support the evil designs of Hafiz and supporters and frankly speaking it may touch nerves of few people but sorry mate JF-17 is not worth fearing, for atleast who knows capabilities of it and IAF. Indians love themselves, their country and definitely never want to be like Pakistan. (There will be very few countries want to be like Pakistan). Anyways lets get over with Moral Science :)
Albeit we know our capabilities only too well but i don't believe at any time any one tried to spread the JF-17 fear, we certainly never christened it the next gen or the 8th wonder...nor did we start chest thumping on our very first air show appearance even if it happened to be a second tier commercial venue.... and we all may love our selves but sitting on the high Horse, we still can not hide the obsession that makes us so curious about others achievements... like wise one wonders, apart from an Indian who in the world would wish to be called an Indian.
I am looking forward to it. There is nothing personal nor do I have any intention for bad mouthing JF-17 or any of your product.

It's no rocket science, the dedicated thread is just click of button away.

Always interested, in every field.

Good, the open eye can never absorb all the spectrum in the galaxy.

Really no one at any time did it? Check few Rafale threads and you will see people claiming JF-17 blk 3 to be at par with Rafale! The amount of stupidity in this comparison is insane and they are not new members but with thousands of posts, and nobody corrected them instead few more came in support!! Even you were there in those threads. What is it?
Oh so you are talking about a product which at present is still being made and no one knows what it incorporates so if some one comments on it then it's up to you how you take it...on the contrary we get a good laugh when Indian media refers to the MKI as Raptor of the East or the 8th wonder and what not.
Who in the world would wish to be called an Indian? are you serious? with 19k post you are trolling this high! aren't you the one who lectured about fear, hate, bla bla bla. Ok for a matter of fact, 6 times the population of your entire country living next to your door, along with "millions", yeah millions others that chant India in US and everywhere in world are too proud buddy. May be you need that hatred lecture for yourself to see thru the reality and my bad that I expected you to be rational. Good Luck with your delusions.
Seems you are too anxious to press the reply button, slowly read my post again, i did say, ''Apart from an Indian''.

Lol..I don't know why you Indians are so obsessed with Pakistan....So Don't fear from JF-17...Its simple as that...Who asked you to fear from it in first place? Go get some work to do kid, you seems like the most idle person of world...!
PAF is a Professional Air Force and knows how and when to Induct an Aircraft...We don't need to prove you anything

I am sorry, but your post didn't make sense to me. Two inbound SU-30's can lock onto 12 PAF jets and fire 1 BVR each. OR, they can lock onto 6 PAF jets and lock and fire 2 BVR's each on 6 of PAF jets. These two SU's can be the fighter escort for 4 other SU-30's fully loaded with weapons to be dropped on a location. So you let TWO SU's take down SIX - TWELVE defensive PAF jets. And remmeber, the PAF is ALREADY much lower in numbers!!!

How many of these attacks are needed before PAF's entire BVR force is taken down? Remember India has 200 SU's.....and many Mirages, etc, etc, all BVR capable.

So, you need to increase your multi-target locking and firing capability as it is an essential force multiplier that is needed really bad. Your Mirages (older ones and F-7P's) are still really point defense and strike aircraft (I can't imagine how big of a strike component F-7 can present due to its weapons limitations). So at the end of the day, at best, the Mirages and the F-7's are at best going to defend against 1 inbound target, even that within 18 KM's due to sidewinder's range of 20-22 KM's. Now imagine if the BVR tier was taken out, what's left? And how do you deal with it?

Again, the MORE multi-target capability is added to every PAF fighter, the better it is. Its MUCH cheaper to hang 4 or 6 BVR weapons to a jet than building 4-6 new jets from scratch. A very advanced missile cost $ 500 K I think. A new jet takes months to build and costs $ 20-35 millions (JFT block II and III price quotes). So why would you not hang "more jewelry" which is cheaper and provides quick and real impact immediately if the Radar can support multiple target lock and fire capability?

Hi,

The problem again is the size---THE MIDGET can only handle so much.

As for the aesa---it uses more electrical power to operate than a conventional radar---the original RD93 power generator did not have enough power left over to operate the aesa radar---.

An small aircraft just does not have any extra power left over because of all the gizmos installed in it.

So--either there has been an upgrade done to the power generator on the RD93---or the aesa has been made more efficient and does not require as much juice to operate.

Viper,

By now you should know that pakistanis don't understand that math. They have angels in green dresses and PIR sahibs and saints come to their rescue---some will grab the bombs and some will grab the missiles----

If you did not understand what I wrote---let me know---and I will explain it to you.

Thank you.

I was under the impression (may be incorrectly) that ASEA and other improvements will require a more powerful engine for faster responses and calculations.

Hi,

You had asked the right question. Aesa uses more energy to operate---so you were on the right track. Maybe the energy consumption issue is overcome---maybe with newer technology---the aesa is using less energy.

The purpose of the F16 dot net video was to show that aircraft can take a lot more G's than aniticipated----.[/QUOTE]

Great. Thanks.........I was under the same impression but did not not know that newer AESAs use less energy.

There is compelling evidence that recent test, raad alcm was launched from a jf-17. There is no possibility to launch it from the f-16 as we don't have access to weapon source codes. But for raad, we do. The footage is clearly from a camera or targeting pod. See the missile dropping down from the fuselage...

O...WOW....I had heard some different things....there was one piece of news which said that there was problem with ground clearance to load RAAD on to JF-17.

Looks like the problem has been resolved.......:yahoo:  :enjoy:

Sire, a simple reason, why hide aircraft instead of showing JF-17 and giving its marketing efforts a new boost ? Take note of of how Rokestan conducts and releases footages of its own ALCM and the amount of data they release for public usage. It will put Pakistani airforce to shame.

There are other retrofitted camera systems that have existed with the Mirages for a long time which The JF-17 has NO operational camera pod.

Sorry, but this video tells nothing ! It shows a few images of a Raad flying bit neither the launch nor any aircraft ... only the already well known Mirage (from 0:45 sec) !

I really do not know from what You deduct that the launching aircraft was a JF-17 ?
