Training and then ground missions.

Nothing beats real life experience, a simulator just doesn't give you that 100% feel.

Also fro ground missions because the JF-17 is going to be used for bombing and off-shore missions, a second pilot will help immensely in distributing the work load of the flying pilot, this also gives better efficiency in flying the plane as well as striking the target.

after 3 years when Block 3 will be around the corner and PAF would have trained many pilots, what training capabilities JF-17 will provide,? Are you sure in today's scenario, JF-17 will provide a better ground mission capability?

Marra i dont know much about these jets, in news it was reported that the jf-17 are getting developed in china and techology would be handed over to pakistan. I asked because chineese maal is usually of low quality.

kakka maaf kar bhai……
koi mood ni new conspiracy theory sunnay ka……

this plane is going to provide you much better capabilities than F7s and Mairages and block 1 is just equvilant to F-16s block 40 and precision strike capability if pods like used on F-16s are available then nothing would be better that JFT for.precision strike role and noted thing is that JF-17 faals in low tech multirole backbone for PAF while high tech are F-16 and FC-20 were considered lets see what happens……:coffee:

Quite better actually than what the PAF has currently in that role. Being able to use PGM's, stand off missiles(which the F-16's lack) and provide an acceptable SEAD capability.. the JF-17 is going to be quite effective in the ground role as well.
One has to look at in context of the battlefield. Back in 71.. Mirages at Sargodha.. would end up at Pathankot in 15-20 minutes under burner.. The distance is such that the JF-17 should be able to undertake all Ground attack missions within the critical 200km from the border and FLOT. Beyond that, with many more dense ADGE circles to cross and multiple interceptors and CAPs to get to targets.. it will be possibly one way missions.

That is where the IAF has one HUGE HUGE advantage in the MKI.. that is not its radar or electronics.. which many overestimate.. but its range. It can literally fly into the "trash" lands of Pakistan.. avoiding all ADGE threats...and possibly interceptors as well..and then strike from alternative paths, create local air superiority sectors.. and cover for ground forces that would advance from an unknown axis. Being able to circumvent Masroor entirely.. they can strike gwadar or Ormara from the Sea.

And how do we plan on countering that ? :what:

Unless I'm mistaken in an earlier thread you once observed that Pakistan has gaping holes in her Air Defense Shield when I think Al-Khalid's Battle Management System was being talked about or something !

Massive, Gaping.. open holes.. enough said.

So how do we deal with that in the context of the MKIs ? Do we just bank on Pakistan's reduced width as a means of providing us with a reduced reaction time in our territory to enable the JF-17s to take off from the nearest airbase & try to intercept the MKIs even if they're right on top of Gwadar & therefore make attrition in Pakistani Air Territory a very unpleasant factor to consider or do we hope to take the war to them & keep them busy through constantly pricking their airspace so that most of the Indian Assets that aren't needed to be kept on the Chinese front as an insurance policy find our incessant counter-attacks & feints as too distracting to mount a credible & ambitious attack like Gwadar to begin with ?

networking of radars...even old giraffe radars should do...as long as they are networked...Using Pakistan's topography...Mountain ranges present high vantage points and increased range for radars

In a desperate situation...a wave of cruise missile attacks can be launched to try and destroy the runways being used by MKIs..
while Pakistani Aircraft being small, can still use motorways for landing and takeoff..The bulky MKIs cannot....
So even after most Runways in Pakistan are destroyed...PAF can still continue operating as destroying hundreds of miles of Motorway isn't easy due to the sheer size of it..
So small isnt always bad.

utopian dreams of Pakistan's, In absence of ABM, How Pakistan will counter BMs' of india which can wipe of out 20 or so airbases, motorways in first 24 hour of full blown war?

The same might probably happen to them. When you are onto BM's.. it means that you've already crossed that nuclear threshold. So your BM's are flying(and they have certain modifications(Thank you disenfranchised ) onto them to ensure that the ABM's will get only a few will get taken down(mostly the Ghauri variety). In addition to the >60 missiles that will be in the air.. there will be an equal quantity of CM's in the air as well and even 1/4th of them getting through is enough to make the target.

In a nuclear war, we arent as badly outmached as is thought.. I can assure you.
Then again, in a nuclear war.. there are NO winners as much as certain glass ego's will be coming out here soon to comment in order to somehow consider the death of millions a victory.

More over let me tell you Pakistan successfully achieved Second strike capability, so even india or any other country drops atom bomb on every inch of Pakistan

Pakistan can strike back with full throttle and this is the main throne which is itching them very badly and you c lots of rumors about Pakistan nuclear weapons.

But Oscar, Shaheen-1, Abdali, Ghaznavi, Agni (Pak, Indian SRBM, MRBM of 300-700 KM range) are designed keeping in mind they will be used in conventional battlefield to provide extreme firepower in short time. You assumption BM used = nuclear threshold crossed which is partially true imho

Brothers, its Monday June 24, 2013 today. Any news on the 3rd squadron of the JF-17 Thunders? Any rumours? Even conspiracy theories will do.

I think it would be crossing the line.
If we were to use BM's the enemy would retaliate and launch theirs as soon as they get word.

If they are being used against you, you would assume the possibility that they are armed with nuclear warheads.
I sure wouldn't to find out if they were.
