rite now paf is using griffo s-7 radar on jf, rite?

is it KLJ-7 or KLJ-10 taimi?

Even if it is KLJ-7, its capabilities are more then the originally specified.

JF-17s nose got bigger after the evolution stage, thus a bigger antenna can be accommodated, which may lead to better performance.

Few pages back do read one excellent post by Gambit regarding the size of the antenna or nose of the aircraft and the radar capabilities over all.

can we consider these radars better then our current radars which are fitted in F-16A/B block15

Yups, much better. JF-17s whole cockpit configuration and ease of usage is better then the current F-16 A/B Block 15s.

The only difference between KLJ-7 and KLJ-10 is the size of antenna as jf-17's nose is slightly smaller than that of the J-10 (664mm against 700+mm). They both have 28 working modes which is more than the Grifo-S (25) but less than the RDY3/RC-400 (both have 30) modes in air-air, air-surface etc. KLJ-7 is a much better radar in terms of range, anti jamming, high working speed due to parallel digital signal processing (four processors instead of original two in Grifo-S). We must remember that the KLJ series has benefited its share of technology from some very high quality radars which include Israel's ELTA 2032 and Russian RP-35, combined with Chinese expertise in electronics, circuit boards. The end product defeated the Grifo-S in terms of reliability, multiple target engagement and is cost efficient as compared to others in its sphere. One more thing I must add here that 2 simultaneous engagements are for SARH missiles, for ARH missile, the actual number is undisclosed !

Some radar specs for different fighter aircraft from around the world. The range of RP-35 (technology shared in the KLJ-7 and 10) has a staggering range of 300 kms!! The Elta is a smaller but compact radar unit and has less range but good functinality. The reason for giving these specs is the relation of both elta and RP-35 with the jf-17 radar as admitted by both Chinese and Russians not too long ago.

JF-17 Missile Approach Warning System SE-2

The SE-2 airborne missile approach warning system was designed to protect the low-speed. low-flying helicopters against various short-range ground-to-air and air-to-air missiles. It detects infrared signature of the incoming missile, alerts the pilot, and triggers the chaff/flare dispenser to counter the enemy threat.

The communication antennae on jf-17 are South African instead of Turkish as per my info. I am searching the news link

will there be any twin seater jf-17...?
cause it doesn't seem like they gonna make one!

They do have plans for it but as of now they are focusing on other developments in hand. Also, the thunder is such an easy aircraft to fly and control that as per an insider, "it is a privilege to fly it" !

Zoom in this image and you will see what appears to be a South African flag like mark.
