1、At least 11 JF-17s now

2、i think pac produce jf17s like this:

2010-------15

2011-------18

2012-------20

I think the current count should be 16, as China delivered 5 more JF-17s prior to the roll-out ceremony on 23rd.

Western defence analysts believe China is keen to use its long-term ties with Pakistan, and the equipment it exports there, to inspire other developing countries to purchase Chinese equipment. "There is a long history of China's close ties with Pakistan. For Beijing, successful demonstration of its weapons in Pakistan's use is a way to encourage interest from others," one Islamabad-based Western defence official told Jane's .

Is this true ?.

Janes is saying 8 planes received from China ... ??? ... Hmmm, we have seen #110 with PAF markings, which explains #09-111 show on Monday! ... ... Janes is missing something.

Is it all single seater or any dual seater or training version ????

there is confusen about no of thunder and not sure at that time these are 11 (2+6+2+1) or 14 (2+6+5+1) now we just one way which is picture of thunder in which serier no will be up to 09-111 (pakistan made thunder)

why pac first jf17's number is 111?

No matter where the aircraft is produced from, either PAC or Chengdu, the number series will continue in the same manner, first two digits would be the year of production, next three would be the number in service, 110 are flying, so 111 comes after it. If the next aircraft comes from China it will be 112, first come first get the number.

the 109 & 110 cae to Pakistan just in last one month, so Janes may not have yet updated its figure.

Is this true ?.

Yeah, all know that Pakistan uses quality equipment, so if some system is used by Pakistan of Chinese origin, it means its compatible to western equipment.

Take example of PLZ-45 howitzer, Kuwait ordered it from China after it won the tender even it was up against western equipments.

Kuwait followed with a follow order too and now Saudi Arabia had also ordered the system from China after the effectiveness of PLZ-45 was seen in Kuwait service compared to western systems.

All single seater, no tandem seat version for the time being.

how to Training jf17's Pilot ?

Screen/Primary----Basic----AJT-----LIFT/OCU---JF17
T38-----------------K8------?---------------------JF17

PAF officials have described the JF-17 as a 'low-cost modern aircraft', with comparisons drawn to the F-16A and B models sold to Islamabad by the US in the early 1980s. However, Western defence officials say an accurate comparison would require a detailed technical evaluation of the two types side-by-side.
Avionics of thunder are way advance and one can tell it just by looking at the pictures of both cokpits!
JF-17 is in league of F-16 blk 30 - 40

For the time being all the pilots are from the F-16 program, so nothing new for them to be flying an aircraft like JF-17.

After first 50 or 100 aircraft, we may see a tandem seat version.

PAF has first the Basic training on a MFI-17 Mushak propeller driven trainer, then the K-8, OCU on FT-5 type aircraft and then are assigned to the operational squadrons where they further go on training before joining their first squadron.

We may see a dual seat JF-17 in the OCU stage in future.
