That is what exactly i have been preaching so far.

We need to have one more HP on each side of the wing then Install MER's and JFT's would be carrying 6x2=12 BVRs and 2 PL-9c/5's.

Do you think JFT can carry this much payload ?

the most it will carry for air to air mission is two BVR and two short range missiles...
remember 4 missiles are standard in air defence role.......
-hint, look at our f-16s, they carry only 4 missiles!

I had discussion with "buddies" about the future potential of jft especially from second block onwards. We analyzed what it will have to face in a competitive market and it all came down to just one conclusion. JFT will give a tough time to JAS 39 Gripen particularly its C and D models and PAF is all set to make it even more competitive in second block to reduce capability margin between JFT blk 2 and Gripen NG. Third block will be one remarkable machine in our hands for sure !

Any info abt RCS of JF-17, coz the RCS of gripen is excellent, if its sensitive, then PM me plzzzzzz.

In the mean time, enjoy testing of blk1 cockpit at CAC facility...

As per Nabil its private.
Also if it was govts. it would have been published on the website dont u think? It was its a new org.

AERO is government owned org. and is under PAF. I m saying this because i know its location. Abbottabad road near Wah cantt. AERO is famously known as AWC.

Well i wish you are telling truth because Grippen ND is competing F16 block70, Mig 35,F18 Super Hornet, EU2000, and Rafale so it must be atleast their par..if Block 2 of JF17 will be competitive to Grippen NG it means competetive to all of these platform so can you plz elaborate in wat way its compatitive. is it in form of cost or in form of tech.

Shanxee there aint such a thing as F-16 block 70.

You are right up till now there is no F16 block 70 but if you have gone through the detail of the offer India got from the US.... US said that the F16 that US will provide to India will be known as F16IN block 70 which will be advance then the F16 exported to the UAE...Block 60.

Why on earth you need to have 12 bvr on jft man?? :P Even two or four at best will do the job. MER is most likely to be seen on inner most pylon where FT hangs but can also be mounted on outer pylon. Just wait for november, december folks and we will see this eye candy.

inshallah . . .. . . . . . .

I bet the K/JDC01 laser designation pod shown here shares a lot with the WMD-7 displayed at Farnborough.

As far as i know this is the latest Chinese LDP where as previous one was based on litening pod, provided a range of 20 km+ and performed pretty well in day and night. Only aspect is MTBO where is was just 350 hours compared to litening's 500+. WMD-7 is a close analogue of Russian Sapsan-e and Thales Damocles in functionality.

Interesting that JH-7A is reported to carry this pod (WMD-7/ KJDC01) and carries same weapons as JFT was seen in FIA and this proves that this pod is more capable and able to guide new generation of Chinese weapons. Remember that KD-88 is C 802A. the pod carried by A-5 which is litening influenced and functional for quite a few years. This is what i found on Xinhui page......

"A datalink pod (Russian AKR-8 copy) carried underneath the engine intake will provide enemy radar emission parameters to the Kh-31P ARM. Similarly a laser designation pod (K/JDC01?) can be carried to paint targets for the LGBs. 4 prototypes were built (#811-814?), with the first JH-7A prototype taking off on July 1, 2002. Currently PLAAF JH-7As are equipped with LT-2 LGB and KD-88 TV guided ASM."
