The J-xx or J-20 is nearly 80,000 pounds undoubdetly the heaviest and largest Stealth Fighter in terms of weight and size...

China currently lack the capability to make engines that can power this mammoth plane to operate like a normal fighter, The F-22 is 10,000 to 20,000 pounds lighter than the J-20.

F-22
Powerplant: 2 × Pratt & Whitney F119-PW-100 Pitch Thrust vectoring turbofans
Dry thrust: 23,500 lb[234] (104 kN) each
Thrust with afterburner: 35,000+ lb[2][234] (156+ kN) each

J-35 III

Powerplant: 1 × Pratt & Whitney F135 afterburning turbofan
Dry thrust: 28,000 lbf[270][N 10] (125 kN)
Thrust with afterburner: 43,000 lbf[270][271] (191 kN)

J-20 and the Wa-15 engines as of now are incapable of producing that much Thrust, atleast 150 kN...
RUSSIA's are STUCK at 147 kN for PAK Fa...

WS-15 is only around 90kn

China needs atleast 180 kN for J-20, (Goal: 18,350 kilograms (40,500 lb) / (180 kilonewtons (40,000 lbf)) with afterburner)

This will slow down the development and further push the introduction and induction phase further, possibly past 2018

Where they hell did you get data saying that WS-15 is only 90 kn?

he wish so dear don't worry thread is itself on joke based .

but dude, the S117 Russian engines with 143 kN were used in taxy run and its first flight... The Ws-15 were not ready in time for Jet.

Russia and U.S. have had half a century of experience and have struggled to get to where they are...

I didn't ask about the Russian engines. I am just curious where you got the numbers 90 kN for WS-15. You had no source to back up your claim.

Do you have proof or source to disprove my claim,, WIKI is not a source

Funny. You just pulled a set of numbers out of your and want me to disprove your claim??? What a joke.

Going by your logic I can also say that the LCA is just a Mirage clone and since WIKI is not a source, you have to provide a source to disprove my claim.

thnx mate i stand for this rule ;)

How do you know J-20's weight?

You realize the Kaveri is not the WS 15. Even the WS 10A has 132 Kn of thrust.

WS-13:
Maximum thrust: 51.2 kilonewtons (11,500 lbf) dry; 86.37 kilonewtons (19,420 lbf) with afterburner
Bypass ratio: 0.57:1

Even if WS-10A is 132Kn ( higly doubt), it it still a reach to get to 180 Kn... Russia has stoped at 147... U.S. took 20 years to provided the Lockheed with a 191 kN engine after rigorous research and development

It would be a miracle for India itself to pull out a 90kn engine in the next decade, so you should worry about your own engine development first.

:woot:

Silly thread!

Already China has the 130KN WS-10A installed on the J-11B and it is rumoured that the 155KN WS-10G is powering one of the J-20 prototypes. I have read somewhere that the expected thrust of WS-15 is expected to approach 170KN, which is more than enough to dogfight with the F-22.

Link plz.

I don't want Indian data.
