Israeli special forces invade Gaza, 6 Palestinians and 1 Israeli soldier killed

A Palestinian prisoner died this morning in an Israeli prison. He previously was a member of Hamas's armed wing. Before that Israeli forces stormed the jails of prisoners belonging to PIJ. Anger is brewing and a couple rockets fired out of Gaza moments ago:

Politicians keep getting invited to Egypt with no progress on truce and lifting the siege. Military wings believe Egypt and Israel are just buying time to complete the construction barrier on Gaza's border then going to assault Gaza. Thus they are putting pressure now.

Egypt pumps toxic gas into smuggling tunnel, killing two Palestinians

Two Palestinians were killed overnight in a tunnel between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, the Hamas-run interior ministry said Monday.

According to spokesman Iyad al-Bozum, one of the casualties was a Hamas police officer and the other a civilian.

Bozum said 39-year-old major Abdelhamid al-Akar and Sabhy Abu Qarushayn, 28, "suffocated due to the inhalation of toxic gases".

Witnesses said Egypt pumped gas into the tunnel.

The two killed Palestinians were on a mission to rescue three workers who had called for help after the toxic gas was pumped into the tunnel, according to the spokesman.

Civil defence crews, alerted on Sunday, retrieved the two bodies from the tunnel "after a great effort that lasted several hours", Bozum said in a statement.

They also rescued two other security officers who had participated in the mission and evacuated them to hospital as they were also suffering from gas inhalation.

Does it have anything to do with Israel commandos assassinating a non relevant and unimportant Hamas member and literally destroying peace talks.

Israel air strikes and shelling over the past week, over what Israel says is 'riots at the border'. Palestinians resumed demonstrations over past week as Israel siege has continued and phases of cease fire agreement mediated by Egypt have not been implemented ever since this special force raid.

In the morning two or three Israeli artillery shells hit one or two outposts on the border prompting Palestinians to respond by firing shots at an Israeli army outpost on the border.

Israel has refused to advance other stages of ceasefire deal, involving easing restrictions of the siege. Such as expanding fishing zone, allowing electricity increase into Gaza(paid for by others) and so on. People are losing it in Gaza and demonstrating and the factions feel pressured to act. Hostilities have resumed.

Two rockets fired from Gaza at Tel Aviv:

Iron Dome interception heard here:

Israel cannot try to 'ride out' situation. It's not possible for situation to change without their approval. Other nations have stepped up to fund infrastructure projects but the siege needs to be lifted at least to an extent. It's a message from the Palestinian factions that Israel needs to take situation seriously and that people of Gaza have nothing to lose. There have been peaceful demonstrations over an year now since last March, however sanctions/siege from Israel and PA are increasing with time.

...

Also Egyptian delegation came into Gaza with an Israeli response(before these rockets) regarding the easing of the siege. It was vague and did not address the Palestinian conditions for a truce. Israel either has to take responsibility for Gaza or allow major relief as far as the land/sea based siege goes. Or they can conduct large wave of air strikes which will make situation worse.

...
...

Btw, no party has taken responsibility and it is not significant from military sense, only symbolic. Beware of twitter sources about a specific party taking responsibility or about make of the rockets. They are locally produced and make of rockets is not important. What is important is that the humanitarian crisis is taken seriously and immediate steps for relief are taken by all parties, primarily Israel.

Elint News is a jewish kid in UK and most of his tweets are misleading. I just use his tweets for siren alerts mostly.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad (Khamenai's mercenaries) fired two rockets at Tel Aviv without any reason. Iron Dome intercepted them.

There are two reasons:
1) They want to start a war to distract attention from the slaughter in Idlib.
2) They want Netanyahu to reelected again.

Breaking: Egyptian delegation has left Gaza after routine visit regarding truce talks, it is believed they will now meet Israeli counterparts

If this thread gets busy please give warning to users to keep off topic remarks about Iran and/or Saudi out of this thread, would appreciate it. I would like to stick to monitoring the news and on topic discussion.

Bizarre analysis and accusations like this need to be removed. PIJ is a religious Sunni group which had differences with Iran over support of Assad and Iran reduced their funding because of that. The situation is strictly related to Gaza, 500 speaks as if Gaza is Dubai. It is under an siege. Also elections in Israel play no role, Netanyahu and Gantz are practically the same.

You are crazy, PIJ denied responsibility and there is Turkish-Russian agreement in Idlib to make sure it remains a mostly clear of hostilities zone. Turkish forces are present in deeper Idlib, news is hardly being covered in Arab media. All Arabs are largely against Assad regime and this situation has nothing to do with Iran.

PIJ leaders are based in Assad's Damascus (in same time when 12 million Sunnis were expelled by Assad), they get all money and weapons from Khamenai regime

In past month there is non stop shelling of Idlib. Yesterday Khamenai aka Assad aka Putin forces killed 17 people including 8 children there.

More like in past week, and it is being covered here in the Syria thread and in Arab media. Don't bring it up in Palestine related thread. Many users here are anti-Assad regime.

Again the Gazans fired rockets against Tel Aviv to provoke the Israelis

PS, every faction including small ones have home made rockets which can reach Tel Aviv. It is not that far from Gaza(55-60KM). Of course news is only made when Palestinians respond. There have been 30 plus air strikes over past week on Gaza by Israeli Air Force some of which I posted in the thread.

Bottomline, immediate steps must be taken to ease restrictions on the Strip.
