Iranians paying respect to Babak Khorramdin (Zoroastrian anti-Arab fighter) by visiting his castle. Khorramdin is being loved by nationalistic Iranians who hate Islam. You see also ancient Zoroastrian symbols in this video. It starts at 5:00. Look how passionate the people are.

@Surenas

Do you think Zoroastrianism is a dying religion? Because in a 100 or so years. I think it'll be pretty much done with.

Even the young Indian Parsis are not really practicing Zoroastrianism it seems. And as India gets more and more modern. I don't know how it'll survive.

No, Iranians (especially the youth) just love Zoroastrianism. Look what these mullah says:

Shia Converting to Zoroastrian - YouTube

He is warning for the Iranian shia youth not massively converting to Zoroastrianism.

Surenas may I request you to keep any Anti Arab or anti Islam kind of posts out of here. Because it will derail the thread and will definitely go against the spirit of the thread.

You will see in the OP I've not mentioned religious issues even when they are part of history.

Thanks.

& perhaps the first supermodel of India.. Persis Khambatta!

hey Fateh -- was it you who once claimed to be an indian of some kind of "iranian origins" or am i thinking of someone else

On the videos of Shah in youtube, I read some Iranians openly calling for Iran to return to their Zoroastrian roots.

Whats he saying.

Parsis are a minority community that can be looked upon as a model for other minority communities to follow but I feel Parsis don't like to be clubbed with other minorities. I saw a recent debate on NDTV about minority quota and a Parsi girl in the audience said that the quota should be called Muslim Quota or by some other name as she as a Parsi doesn't want to be associated with it.

i need to say something to the Surenas :
you even don't believe in god so you just don't have the quality to talk about islam , Zoroastrianism , christian or etc... the thread is about something else!

and you indian guys, there was something else in the past about parsis in india: The Persian language, before the British colonized India, was the country's second official language (in Gorkanid official language) and was considered the language of culture and science. However, after colonization by the British, it was replaced with English :undecided:

Hi,

The title is misleading-----the ones you are talking about---a small minority are actually they are parsis----zoroastrians. Iranians are in india and pakistan in different caste groups---one of the most prominent is Kamboh or Kamboja and they and their sub castes are in quite a large numbers---
