Iranian Space program

Rodong (or Nodong) as far as I know is a single stage rocket. Safir has two stages. The difficulty is passing the threshold of single stage into multiple stage.

Rodong-2 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Iran used scuds during the war with Iraq so they may have used that as a base to start the development.

And recently the experts believe that it is Iran helping North Korea not the other way around:

What North Korea's Rocket Launch Tells Us About Iran's Role : NPR
Rodong-1 began tests in 1993 and was deployed in 1997.
Shahab-3, which is virtually exact Rodong-1 copy, began tests in 1998 and was deployed in 2003.

Safir uses Rodong-1 as first stage and third stage of Unha as second stage.

Simorgh is two stage version of Unha instead of 3. So its basically a downgraded Unha.

Dont u think is ridiculous to a make mockup of manned capsule when u cant launch even a tiny micro satellite to stable orbit?

Safir's first stage will be enough for suborbital launch ...

In order to launch man to space u need a launcher 10 times more powerful than Simorg, which u still dont have.

Overall man in space is extremely expensive thing with little practical value. Thats why Europeans and Japanese who are light years ahead of Iran and 10 times richer dont even bother.

You think !?

We are talking about the space capsule, which is an achievement of its own. The Iranian delivery vehicles are well advanced and surprising.Iran will need a 10 times more powerful launchers if it wants to send a 500 kg man or a crew of 3 or for, but not for a one man mission like the Yuri Gagarin one. What we are witnessing from Iran are some first steps to conquer space. They are mostly on their own and making progress in the most advanced scientific fields. If one is not Jealous or envious, he has to salute them. Taking rusted missiles and making some of the most advanced Ballistic missiles out of them is no small task, not many nations have the will or the ability to do it even when handed with new technologies.
Usrael get it all shewed and ready to swallow and digest down its throat from the US and company, it is nothing to be proud of, apart from a fake-boost to their ego.

You think !?
In order to launch m to 100 km altitude u need to spend m*10*100*10^3 J = m*10^6 J of energy
In order to accelerate m to 8 km/s u need to spend m*16*10^6/2=m*8*10^6 J

Thus orbital launch to 200 km needs 10 times more energy.

you don't know a single shit about the rockets !

Unha-2 launched in 05.04.2009 but first safir launched in 04.02.2008 !

2nd stage of safir is taller than 3rd stage of unha-2 !

North koreans after failure asked for help & they had safir's 2nd stage in unha-3 !

Iranian engineers even changed the size of fins :

Unlike unha simorgh using an efficient kick stage instead of 3rd stage :

They have just launched a satellite to a higher orbit than 200 kms!

WTF, 5 launches have been halted by this f@cking government.

Source: Raja news, which is not surprising that you use it.

Some fanboys are sitting in their homes waiting for satellite launches every four months so they can fulfill their fake pride.

Space industry is not a joke and populist policies like those of Ahmadinejad's are only good for fooling the illiterate.

Enough with launching test satellites, we should and we are going for bigger launches.

This "fucking government," says Mohsen.

The irony!! This "fucking government" is the only thing standing between him and a future as bright as Liberia. These so called satellite launches are so useless that the intelligence services around the world see it as only one thing: ballistic missile tests. They don't understand that in dictatorships a dictator can literally spend a billion or more on a useless propaganda act. To them, Iran is testing missiles. With that comes pressure, sanctions and calls for embargo, war, inflation, misery and unemployment. Meanwhile Mohsen is crying that IR hasn't launched another 50 kg walkie talkie radio.

Iran is not capable to launch anything into orbit. Thats a nice show...as usual.

Iran does not have the ability to build LOX engines and most likely depends on SRB...I have no dounbt Iran can lift something up into the sky but in no way into a stable orbit.
