Iranian Protests

As far as I see the lady who they tortured and killed was dressed modestly enough,

She was neither tortured nor killed, but passed away due to preexisting health issues. CCTV footage was published of Mahsa Amini exiting the police van along with several other people, and she was walking and behaving normally. A person who'd just been tortured wouldn't.

Moreover her father at the hospital confirmed she had undergone brain surgery as a child (again a video recording of this was aired). The legal medical report concluded similarly about the cause death.

On the other hand the way their male law enforcement are manhandling women, groping, touching and harassing them is nowhere near Islam or any of its teachings.

No female was groped by law enforcement. The video posted in this thread which the BBC tried to present as an instance of "groping", is in fact showing an officer who's going for the stopped person's belt, a standard immobilization procedure.

judiciary medicine , report says she was not died of the disease , the reason she died was that she didn't received proper care after the attack, there was delay on providing BLS to her before ambulance reach there , there was delay in ambulance leaving the facility after they decided she must go to hospitals . and there was no AED device in the facility . and its not only judiciary medicine report, today it again come in the parliament report .
it easy to conclude if police was not lax on their training and the facility had adequate preparation for such incidence , she would have been alive today, and no such disturbance have happened in the country

Did you read what I was responding to? A suggestion that she was "tortured and killed". And guess what, there's more than a simple nuance between this suggestion and the organizational shortcomings you're describing - it's like night and day.

There are plenty such imperfections in terms of personnel training across the world, and Iran is actually faring better than most in this regard. Even developed countries aren't entirely spared. Nor are such issues confined to law enforcement, they're affecting every sector of activity.

Wrong, the rioters who caused these disturbances had mobilized under the false pretense that she had been killed as a result of police violence. To a rationally thinking person, the findings of the legal medical report will not offer reason enough for violent upheaval.

Tokhme arab regime . Not surprising

Hezbollah, Hashd Al-Shaabi Forces Helping Iran Suppress Protests - Reports

Forces from Iran-backed Lebanese Hezbollah group and Iraq’s Shiite militia Hashd al-Shaabi have been seen helping Iran’s Basij paramilitary forces in their crackdown on Iranian protesters.

According to a report by the Jerusalem Post on Sunday, plainclothes men with Lebanese-accented Arabic speakers were seen trying to help Iranian police, Revolutionary Guards, and Basij to suppress the protesters in various cities, including in the capital of Tehran.
Videos of the Arabic-speaking individuals violently beating Iranian protesters have earlier surfaced on social media. Iran International cannot independently verify the authenticity of the claim.
However, earlier in October, Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah promoted the Islamic Republic’s propaganda line, trying to deflect blame over the death of Mahsa Amini, the 22-year-old whose death sparked the uprising.
Referring to Amini’s death as a “vague incident,” Nasrallah -- whose militant movement was created by Iran in early 1980s and has been receiving money and weapons from Iran ever since, said her death was a plot to weaken the Islamic Republic and create regional tensions.
Hezbollah is also using all its propaganda tools to show support for the Islamic Republic and misrepresent the current nationwide protests in Iran, organizing rallies in support of the regime in Tehran with students from its private educational system – the Mahdi schools.

Obviously! IRIB is not going to report on this information are they ? it is very plausible since both of these entities are trained and paid for by the mullas that they will deploy them. If the protests keep going, the regime will have no choice but deploy foreign mercenaries as it has done in the past specially since it is dominated by anti-iran ideologues . They are shite version of social marxists that are ruining the west. Same tactics, different concept. That is not a Saudi or an Israeli torturing him on the street is it?

Lebanese Hezbollah and Iraq’s Has’d al-Shaabi have been seen helping Iran’s Basiji forces crackdown on protesters across the country.

According to sources, plain-clothes men with Lebanese-accented Arabic were seen trying to suppress riots in various cities in Iran, including in the capital of Tehran. They are in addition to the hundreds of troops belonging to the police, Basiji, and Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps who have been central in trying to quash the protests.

Iran has been engulfed in widespread protests against the regime since mid-September after 22-year-old Mahsa Amini was killed in police custody after she was detained by the country’s morality police for not properly wearing a hijab.
“The Iranian state is a target and so any incident is exploited… to incite against this state.”

Hezbollah on the Iran protests

In early October, Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah referred to Amini’s death as a “vague incident” and that the protests rocking the country are not reflective of the true will of Iranians.

“The Iranian state is a target and so any incident is exploited… to incite against this state,” he said. “This vague incident was exploited and people took to the streets.”

Ongoing protests in Iran

While it is unclear exactly how many protesters have died since the protest broke out, its believed that over 200 people have been killed. Videos and pictures on social media show security forces firing live fire into crowds as well as violently beating protesters.

According to the Oslo-based Iran Human Rights organization, some 20 people who were killed were minors.

Several Basiji forces have also been killed in the protests and dozens more injured.

Past use of proxies in Iran

Though rare, Iran used Hezbollah and other Arabic-speaking proxies to help quash protests.

According to a report in BBC Persian, during protests in 2009 riot police and plain-clothes officers with Arabic accents were seen cracking down on Iranians who were demonstrating against the results of the presidential election.

The report said that the men were believed to be from Hezbollah or Palestinian terror groups like Hamas. Both groups rely heavily on Tehran for funding and weapons.

Despite economic hardships facing its own citizens, Iran sends over $1 billion USD to its proxy groups, including over $500 million USD to Hezbollah in Lebanon, hundreds of millions to the Houthis in Yemen, over $100 million USD to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza and tens of millions of dollars to pro-Iranian militias in Iraq.

Seems like Parsipride has assumed his role as the resident anti-Iran agitator on PDF. Resorting to posting Saudi/ZIonist/US funded sources without context, these are the same sources that claim that Mahsa Amini was tortured to death even though we've had evidence to the contrary for about a month now.

Protestors =/= Rioters/Vandals/Saboteurs

A major fire broke out at the Evin prison in Tehran on October 15, and the regime used live rounds and tear gas against prisoners and nearby protestors. Iranian state media made the unsubstantiated claim that inmates started the fire.[1] Regime security forces used violence against prisoners and nearby protesters during the fire.[2] Persian-language social media accounts reported that security forces have blocked roads to the prison and fired live rounds and tear gas.[3] Social media users and western media outlets reported explosions and gunshots around Evin Prison.[4]
The regime uses Evin Prison to hold political prisoners and individuals detained on security-related charges, among others.[5] Prison guards and security officials harshly abuse and mistreat inmates there.[6] The judiciary manages the prison, but the Intelligence and Security Ministry and IRGC Intelligence Organization control some parts of the facility as well.[7] The regime holds several dual nationals at Evin Prison, including US-Iranian citizens Siamak Namazi and Emad Shargi.[8]
Social media users have suggested without substantiation that the regime intentionally started the fire, possibly to justify the killing of arrested protesters at the prison.[9] Yasser Hashemi Rafsanjani—the son of late President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani—claimed that Iranian authorities advised his brother not to return to Evin Prison on October 15 when his brother was scheduled to return from a furlough.[10] CTP cannot validate these rumors.
Key Takeaways
  • A major fire broke out at the Evin prison in Tehran on October 15, and the regime used live rounds and tear gas against prisoners and nearby protestors.
  • Anti-regime protests occurred in at least 22 cities in 16 provinces, although this number is almost certainly higher.
  • A Persian-language social media account tweeted a political manifesto, calling for a peaceful transition to establish a democratic, secular Iranian government.
  • IRGC-affiliated Telegram channels claimed that unidentified militants fired six rockets at the al Omar oilfield, which houses US servicemembers, in eastern Syria.
Anti-Regime Protests
Anti-regime protests occurred in at least 22 cities in 16 provinces on October 15, although the number of protests is almost certainly higher.
Open-source information on protest activity on October 15 is likely delayed by news of the fire and violence at Evin Prison. Protest organizations called for countrywide protests on October 15, again demonstrating their ability to coordinate large-scale unrest. The regime disrupted internet services on the morning of October 15.[11] CTP assess that protests occurred in the following locations:
  • Karaj, Alborz Province (violence reported)
  • Adrabil City, Ardabil Province (violence reported)
  • Tabriz, East Azerbaijan Province (violence reported)
  • Esfahan City, Esfahan Province
  • Shahin Shahr, Esfahan Province
  • Rasht, Gilan Province
  • Hamedan City, Hamadan Province
  • Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan Province
  • Kerman City, Kerman Province
  • Kermanshah City, Kermanshah Province (violence reported)
  • Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Province
  • Boukan, Kurdistan Province (violence reported)
  • Marivan, Kurdistan Province
  • Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province
  • Saghez, Kurdistan Province (violence reported)
  • Khorram Abad, Lorestan Province (violence reported)
  • Arak, Markazi Province
  • Amol, Mazandaran Province
  • Tehran City, Tehran Province
  • Mahabad, West Azerbaijan Province (violence reported)
  • Ourmia, West Azerbaijan Province
  • Yazd City, Yazd Province (violence reported)

A Persian-language social media account tweeted a political manifesto on October 14, calling for a peaceful transition to establish a democratic, secular Iranian government.[12] The anonymous authors proposed establishing a transitional government that would provide amnesty to arrested protesters, investigate the regime crackdown, integrate the IRGC into the Artesh, resolve the nuclear negotiations, and improve the economy. The authors expressed support for the protests and emphasized the importance of women’s rights, preserving Iran’s territorial integrity, and promoting the freedoms of assembly, association, press, and privacy. The authors welcomed the participation of current regime members and stated that they reserve the right of legitimate defense against repression. A journalist from the Independent tweeted without details or substantiation that male and female political activists in Tehran drafted the statement.[13]
State-aligned media outlets are propagating divergent—and often contradictory--narratives of the regime's response to ongoing unrest. IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency denied reports that Iranian security forces killed a high school girl in Ardabil City and even claimed that there had been no protest- related deaths or injuries in Ardabil Province.[14] Some state-aligned outlets, including Tasnim, later circulated purported footage from the deceased student’s uncle, who claimed that the student had died from heart disease.[15] The footage implicitly suggests that a high school did indeed die, contradicting Tasnim’s initial story. State-affiliated outlets had similarly discordant coverage of the fire and reported violence at Evin Prison, Tehran City. IRGC-affiliated Fars News Agency reported clashes between prisoners and security personnel while other outlets claimed that clashes were limited to being between prisoners.[16]
A prominent Iranian cleric and reporter diverged from the regime’s official narrative downplaying ongoing protests. A senior cleric in Sistan and Baluchistan Province—where the regime has pursued particularly violent protest suppression tactics--defended protestors and criticized some clerics’ comments blaming anti-regime demonstrations on the economy.[17] A reformist outlet similarly circulated an interview from a prominent Iranian journalist criticizing the regime that same day.[18]
The Law Enforcement Command reportedly issued a complaint over four parliamentarians’ views on Mahsa Amini’s death and the morality police, which could also signal broader disagreements about protest responses within the regime.[19]
President Joe Biden reiterated his support for the Iranian protesters on October 14.[20] Biden called on the regime to end its crackdown.
Axis of Resistance and Regional Developments
IRGC-affiliated Telegram channels reported that unidentified militants fired six rockets at the al Omar oilfield, which houses US servicemembers, in eastern Syria.
[21] CTP cannot verify this reporting. US CENTCOM has not confirmed the attack occurred. IRGC-affiliated Telegram accounts often claim false attacks on US positions. The IRGC may have ordered its proxies to attack the oilfield if the reporting is true to retaliate for the perceived US role in stoking the protests.

IRAN CRISIS UPDATE, OCTOBER 16

The IRGC may resume attacks against targets in Iraqi Kurdistan in the coming days.
IRGC and Lebanese Hezbollah (LH) media outlets blamed Kurdish militants’ presence in Iraqi Kurdistan for ongoing, anti-regime protests on October 16. LH-owned Al Ahed News recirculated an IRGC-owned media outlet article that claimed that Mossad agents have been working with Kurdish Komala militants to establish sabotage networks in Iran since 2021.[1] IRGC Telegram channels also posted an October 16 statement from the chief of the Iranian Armed Forces General Staff, Mohammad Bagheri, warning that the IRGC will resume attacks into Iraqi Kurdistan if the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) fails to “deport or disarm the local militias.”[2]
LH and IRGC rhetoric coincides with reports that the KRG refused Iran's demands to disarm and remove anti-Iranian regime militants from Iraqi Kurdistan.[3] Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian made the demand in a meeting with KRG Interior Minister Rebar Ahmed in Tehran on October 16. Iran International claimed on October 16 that KRG envoy to Iran Nazim Dabbagh admitted that the KRG had warned anti-regime Kurdish militants prior to IRGC attacks.[4]
Recent progress in forming an Iran-friendly government in Baghdad has lowered the risk that renewed attacks would harm Iran’s political influence over the Iraqi government. The IRGC paused attacks into Iraqi Kurdistan on October 8 likely in part to avoid undermining Iran-aligned Iraqi political factions’ efforts to form a government.[5] Iran-backed political factions made significant progress on government formation by installing officials favored by the Iran-backed Shia Coordination Framework as the new Iraqi president and the new Iraqi Prime Minister on October 13.[6] Newly installed Iraqi Prime Minister and Iran-backed Shia Coordination Framework official Mohammad al-Sudani announced that he expects to finish forming a cabinet weeks ahead of his November 12 deadline.[7]
Key Takeaways
  • The IRGC may resume attacks against positions in Iraqi Kurdistan in the coming days.
  • Anti-regime protests occurred in at least 14 cities in 12 provinces on October 16.
  • Iranian state-run outlets have struggled to cohere a unified narrative following reports of violence at Evin Prison in Tehran.
  • Iranian security forces are increasingly targeting high schools in an attempt to quell unrest, which could reinvigorate ongoing protests.
  • Iranian officials are increasingly describing ongoing protests as being revolutionary in nature and acknowledge that recent demonstrations target the foundation of the regime.
Anti-Regime Protests
Anti-regime protests occurred in at least 14 cities in 12 provinces on October 16.
CTP assesses with moderate or high confidence that protests occurred in the following locations:
  • Karaj, Alborz Province
  • Ardabil, Ardabil Province
  • Shahr-e Kord, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province
  • Tabriz, East Azerbaijan Province
  • Najafabad, Esfahan Province
  • Rasht, Gilan Province
  • Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Province
  • Saghez, Kurdistan Province
  • Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province
  • Babol, Mazandaran Province
  • Tehran City, Tehran Province
  • Yazd City, Yazd Province
CTP assesses with low confidence that protests occurred in the following locations:
  • Esfahan City, Esfahan Province
  • Piranshahr, West Azerbaijan Province

Iranian state-run outlets have struggled to cohere around a unified narrative following reports of violence at Evin Prison in Tehran. IRGC-affiliated Fars and Mashregh News Agencies reported that Evin prisoners had entered a minefield when fleeing a fire on the premises, thereby causing explosions documented by several Iranian social media users.[8] Several other state-affiliated outlets, including one affiliated with the IRGC, did not circulate this report, although most regime entities stated that the clashes involved prison wards seven and eight.[9] State-broadcaster IRIB similarly corrected its report that 40 Evin prisoners had died, lowering its estimate to four shortly thereafter.[10] Iranian state reports estimate that 61 prisoners were injured in the Evin Prison fire and clashes, 10 of whom have been hospitalized.[11] CTP cannot assess what transpired at Evin Prison on October 15.
Iranians are reporting an increased security presence and violence in Iranian high schools. Ham Mihan Newspaper corroborated recent reports that Iranian security officials beat and detained Shahed High School students for chanting anti-regime slogans in Ardabil City on October 12. Ham Mihan added that Iranian authorities took the students to a regime-organized event without their parents’ knowledge or consent. Ham Mihan described one student as “unwell,” but was unable to confirm prior reports that she had succumbed to her injuries.[12] Another social media user purporting to be an Iranian student claimed that security forces targeted over 10 other schools in Ardabil City on October 12, allegedly beating and detaining children from other schools in the area.[13] CTP cannot verify this report. The Hengaw Human Rights Organization similarly reported that Iranian security forces raided two schools in an unspecified town in Kurdistan Province, arresting at least five students.[14] IRGC Commander Hossein Salami framed Iranian schools as an ideological battlefield and site of unrest on October 16.[15]
The regime’s reported violence towards children—and denial of these acts of violence—could exacerbate ongoing protests. A security official claimed that 16-year-old Nima Shafigh Doust died from an infected dog bite following reports that Iranian security forces shot and killed Shafigh Doust in a protest in Ourmia, West Azerbaijan Province.[16] Regime-affiliated media outlets and officials similarly claimed that Sarina Esmail Zadeh and Nika Shakarami—two teenage protestors brutally killed by security forces—committed suicide several weeks prior. [17] Protestors chanted “we don’t want a regime that kills children” in Ardabil City on October 15, a slogan that may increasingly resonate with demonstrators and inflame unrest.[18]
Iranian officials are increasingly describing ongoing protests as being revolutionary in nature. Tehran Governor Mohsen Mansouri acknowledged that recent unrest has evolved from focusing on the morality police and mandatory veiling to targeting the regime on October 16.[19] A provincial official in Semnan Province echoed Mansouri’s rhetoric that same day and implied that recent demonstrations aimed to overthrow the Islamic Republic.[20] Both officials blamed the US for inciting and directing anti-regime protests.
Senior Iranian officials and an IRGC media channel accused the US and other western countries of inciting ongoing, anti-regime protests. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi criticized US president Joe Biden for expressing support for Iranian protesters on October 15. Raisi also blamed the US for stoking unrest.[21] Senior Iranian security official Hassan Karimi similarly claimed that foreign actors have incentivized Iranians to participate in protests on October 16.[22] An IRGC Telegram Channel claimed that security officials arrested a German national in Ardabil City on October 15 for attempting to facilitate communication between protestors.[23]
Axis of Resistance and Regional Developments
There was nothing significant to report.

Protestors =/= Rioters/Vandals/Saboteurs
Quite contrary to your statement. I am pro-Iran and against a government that is stuck in the stone age that refuses to understand the requests of millions of its youth and citizens. I am against a regime that answers protest with murder and torture. Obviously the information is posted on an American social media platform genius. However, it does not change the fact that it is happening. Could the regime have deployed security forces to protect against vandalism but let the protesters vent? absolutely! The protests very likely would have died down. However, it choose to deal with them with an Iron fist and now it has backfired. The enemies of Iran will capitalize on the situation and the mulla will bend over and take without lubricant in its negotiants with the West.

Do Americans care about the well being of Iranians? The answer is an obvious NO. It does not change the fact that half of Iran will leave if they have a choice between living abroad where they have a chance at a better standard of living and personal freedom than under the mulla regime.

You or the rest of clan shilling for the regime have not proven jack about Mahsa Amini or anyone else. The same tactic as globalist use, when they can not win an argument based on facts and objectively. they resort baseless accusations of Racism, Xenophobia, homophobia on and on. You and the shills for regime want to say that anyone that criticizes the mulla regime for its incompetence and corruption is shilling for the Americans/Saudis/ Zionist . Wrong

Show me the autopsy on Mahsa instead hearsay none-sense. This is not about Mahsa. It is about a population that wants basics and rights.

Well if the protests didn't inevitably turn into riots than it would be fine, there have been past anti-regime protests that have transpired relatively peacefully. But a protest with no direction and vision beyond "margbar mullah" will inevitably lead nowhere because it's been the same slogan for the past half-dozen protests. You neglect the fact that dozens of security personnel have died, protestors don't kill and destroy, rioters, vandals and saboteurs do, I mean what are security forces expected to do? Let some angsty turd slit his throat because the regime might look bad? They have a right to self-preservation too, I'm also not discounting cases of brutality and excessive force, this phenomenon is endemic to law enforcement around the world because it's a position of power which attracts people with personality disorders. Look at the Paris protests today, very obvious, blatant cases of excessive force.

I mean you yourself are advocating for some sort of armed struggle and lynch mobs, way to play into literal Zio-American and Saudi wet dreams, and over what? An unfortunate incident where some girl keeled over at the wrong time in the wrong place, where the authorities were transparent enough to release surveillance video of the event where she is clearly shown to be fine before falling unconscious? If you want medical evidence there are pages of discussion of it on the chill thread by people more qualified than me, but find me one which suggests she was somehow brutally tortured on the way to the police station. By continuing to riot, destroy and kill they are undermining their desire for "basic rights" as you call them, because they become indistinguishable from criminals and terrorists! Yes the regime and security forces have made many mistakes but they are ultimately Iranian themselves and most are trying to do good by their nation.

These "protests" always seem to bring out all the freaks who use the chaos and uncertainty to attain political goals, including terrorism and separatism. Which is often aided by foreign intelligence services. Why? Because Iran is generally a stable country, with many enemies, and protests are the only time where there is opportunity to undermine Iran. This poisons the well for genuine protests in Iran which creates suspicion from the authorities, I have no problem believing that the original protests were sincere but now it has devolved into a full blown chimpout and security forces need to get a handle on it and pacify the situation. Iran has always been known to allow protests so people can express their frustrations instead of bottling it up, but no country, including Iran should tolerate the chaos it has evolved to. There is definitely a national discussion to have about compulsory hijab, the role of the morality police and general police brutality and incompetence, but Iranians have to be very careful into not turning their country into another Syria or Libya which is where Iran will be if the current situation remains unchecked.

He's not wrong here, to be honest. The under 18s participating in the riots are largely simps raised on pornography and video games who think they'll get laid by joining "le wimminz cause".

The Islamic Republic shot itself in the foot by encouraging women to join universities en masse. Instead, they should have been reared to be homemakers but to present themselves as "developed", they raised a generation of entitled careerist bitches.

Consequence is, when you place a woman on the exact same pedestal as a man, she wants all the perks of being a man too, only to the detriment of womanhood.
But if Iranians treated their women like the Taliban this would not happen? This was the mindset of Arabia in the 500s you know. Glad to know you found your calling: either back in history in the 500s, or with the Taliban today....

But males going to universities expecting more from their corrupt leaders is okay: the protests against the Shah and take over by US embassy in Tehran were (male) students.

Males are not compliant, brainless, automatons that don't know any better and only women going to university can somehow stand up and ask for their rights.

Hey, were the protestors against the Shah that came out freaks too? How was that protest okay and not this. Ultimately the difference then was the compassionate of the Iranian army who decided not to shoot for the Shah . Here the Govt has no qualms about shooting.

Had Iran not had its 1979 occur this way (via protests against the regime's rpactices) , your point may make some sense.
