Maybe that crane at the background of picture had something to do with it by taking it off?

It appears the radars fell off in the storm.
Do you know any similar incident?in the storm ?!
but if so, how they had assembled them ... with the quick glue.
we hope that the reason is another

I pretty sure the Navy took them off to reduces the imbalance and reduce the chances of the ship fully capsizing and flipping over....
This incident should have never happened! They are professional Navy and they should of had updates on whether conditions and they shouldn't have been where they were for this incident to happen!
And Iran's Navy should really have at least 2 tug boats escorting armed Navy vessels in and out of ports at all times!
I think they should tow the Damavand in uninstall all the parts and components that are hard to come by and transfer them to the south and install them on the new Mowj class hull and deck they just finished in the south as soon as possible

As for the Caspian Sea I think its far more important that Iran builds a fleet of at least 4 Gadir Class subs for the Caspian Sea than another Mowj Class frigate

Incident with Sahand was 30 years ago but yes one on one & outside the reach of Iranian costal defense systems I don't imagine a battle between an Iranian ship & a U.S. vessel going any differently! They are equipped with far more advanced sensors, weapons systems & far more capable Air Force backing them up!
Regardless, Iran is an energy and mineral rich country of 80 million people that means millions of tones of products getting imported in and out of the country! Iran can't keep ignore it's navy! Iran will need to build up it's Naval fleet and it might take another 3 decades or it might take 5 decades but it needs to get done!
By your logic since the U.S. has the most powerful Navy on the Planet then all NONE NATO countries should just scrap their Navy & not bother! And that is absurd!
Just because you build a warship it doesn't mean every single component on that ship has to be domestic!
