IRAN’S BUILDING A NEW FLYING EKRANOPLAN

The Iran Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Complex appears to have built a new ekranoplan at the shipyard located near Bostanu, satellite imagery suggests.

Imagery acquired by DigitalGlobe from October 2014 shows Iran’s new flying boat. It’s the country’s first new model since publicizing the Bavar-2 back in 2010.

The ekranoplan, also known as a ground effect vehicle after the technology it employs, was observed near the shipyard’s transverse table at the time of capture. Additional imagery from November also showed the boat in the water suggesting that harbor trials took place — though it’s doubtful the craft is operational. Subsequent imagery has shown that it returned to the ISOICO’s fabrication shop. In fact, imagery as late as April still showed it at the shipyard.

So far, there’s been no open source reporting on Iran’s new boat, though given the country’s previous record of promoting technological achievements, it should only be a matter of time.

َActually it is one of two existing Besat-Class pictures available publicly and is at least 3 years old.

The other picture is newer. The Besat-Class Submarine's weight has increased to 1300 Tonnes surfaced. It will have a 20 knots of cruise subsurface speed and can fire 6 torpedoes, some cruise missiles and mines simultaneously. Will perform both defensive and offensive operations. The maximum depth will be 300 meters and will have the Air independent propulsion[1]

Iran Navy use lease weapon on U.S navy ship and helicopter Gulf of Aden


Washington (CNN)A U.S. Navy ship and helicopter were repeatedly targeted by a laser device on board an Iranian-flagged merchant ship beginning on Sunday in the Gulf of Aden, according to a U.S. defense official.

No U.S. personnel were hurt or equipment damaged in the incidents which ended on Wednesday, the official said.

The bridge area of the USS Forrest Sherman and one of its helicopters were targeted, the official said.

The Navy is not certain exactly what the device was, or how powerful it was, but believes it was not of industrial or military grade quality since there was no damage. The incidents are viewed at this point as harassment from the Iranians.

The incidents took place in international waters off the coast of Yemen. The Navy ship was "conducting routine maritime operations," the official said. But it is well understood that U.S Navy warships patrol the region looking for any indication of Iranian weapons smuggling into Yemen.

1- A new weapon that fires laser at ships and they will be destroyed 24 hours later when Iranian ship is out of range for retaliation!

2- It was the captain's kid key-chain laser playing with it!

3- It is Iranian ship's fire control laser range finder who apparently found the ship and its distance!

4- It is just to remind US navy that we are watching you!!

5- It was aliens who wanted to know more about a machine Called Helicopter!

6- It was a way to let Americans stay in what we call "Khomarish"!!

Don't over exaggerate it as you always do. If it was a laser weapon, the war had already been started. It was most probably a laser toy to troll Americans. As it is said, there was absolutely no damage.

my bet is on sunburn . till now all of our cruise missile are sub sonic but Sunburn is super sonic cruise missile ...

he said senior commanders will decide when to make this missile operational, so I assume currently it's not operational.
and if something isn't operation, then mass produce it for what purpose? just to see the amount of maintenance costs?
