So it that a scaled down mockup of the radar or will the final radar be that sized?

Also, any hints at that 200meter ships they stated they will make?
Judging by the size of the actual cell in hands of one of the officers, the real one will be 5-8 times larger. This is only a model.

Iranian Navy unveils the mock up of its advanced multifunction S-band AESA naval radar system dubbed the 'Eagle Eye'.
In an image it is installed on a drawing of the training ship, this configuration of the ship has lines of the superstructures much more modern than in the photos and in the model we have seen before

Khalij Fars mock up looks sort of disappointing. Seems like it will be training/replenishment type ship.

They shouldn't even bother building a ship this big without VLS.

Does anyone have any idea what the hell the Shiraz (now Tala'eh?) is? Iran keeps calling it an "intelligence ship". If so, why does it have a helicopter hangar? Surely it doesn't need more than a powerful radar? Why does it need any substantial armament like the 76 mm gun?

Hell, why does Iran even need an intelligence ship? None of it makes sense.

It could be a SIGNIT ship, likely patrol near foreign navy assets/bases in Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea in order to gain valuable intelligence on operations.

You won’t really know until you see the “insides” of the ship.

Other than a covered tower and extension of superstructure (to cover more exposed regions in order to reduce RCS) it’s not really a destroyer.

Still showing a Lack of VLS and next gen tech (ex rail gun/lasers).

Overall, seems pretty disappointing. But I will give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

Iranian have this habit of toning down the real capacity of their equipment, training ship, missiles all for some magical reason stuck at 2000 km range and etc.

and your picture is what a$$hole reporters picked!
Army clearly need to control these reporter a little more , these lazy reporters always make such nonsense news ,the trimaran even don't resemble USS Invincible ,by what I see this one is more geared for faster movement and being agile while the US model , is more a platform for their helicopters

we really need that training ship if we want to have a real blue water navy , training future personnel , inside persian gulf and Caspian sea won't made them to face the situation of oceans.

well an intelligence ship need a lot more than a powerful radar .
also a 76mm gun is not a substantial attack weapon anymore , it gave the ship a limited ground attack and some how can act as a CIWS nothing more any more, also if its a training ship it needs to have that heli pad ,after all that also is part of training and it come handy in times

abbiamo davvero bisogno di quella nave da addestramento se vogliamo avere una vera marina blu, addestrare il personale futuro, nel golfo persico e il Mar Caspio non li farà affrontare la situazione degli oceani. [/ QUOTE]

yes, naturally, with a ship of greater displacement, the cadets can make study and practice cruises by visiting also friendly nations that are far from the Iranian coasts.
But I am of the idea that it will still be a multi-purpose ship and in case of need and conflict it can effectively carry out combat missions of a large frigate or destroyer

@PeeD are these the modules you were talking about? How do you know they are AESA and not PESA?
