Iran Current economy can't even produce enough wealth for our army to equip itself with armored vehicle and MRAP in mass quantity and operate them regular ....

boy , just stop using drug and try to live in reality ....
Maybe they can but Iranian govt has decided to use those funds on extra regional forces like Hezbollah instead of the national/domestic army? Just saying. Because someone doesnt spend money on something doesnt mean they dont have the money in the first place.

Its not a question of lack of money, its a question of lack of political will to spend the money on the military in the first place.

And who would protect that ship? A Helo carrier would need a surface fleet of 2-3 VLS equipped destroyers to protect it as well as a Kilo Class submarine to follow it.

Luxury item for the future as any form of carrier is a form of power projection. Iran isn’t going to be waging war on US or European mainland anytime soon so its focus should be destroyers to protect itself and its allies.

Iran is better off building VLS destroyers that can pack a punch and equip them with a naval version of Bavar 373.

It depends on what your using your ships for! Vast majority of Iran's blue water operation are mainly about providing escort, anti piracy & anti terrorist operations and a Helo & UAV carrier/ Replenishment ship is far less of a perceived threat than a cruise equipped +40 land attack cruise missiles + large number of medium ranged SAM's getting within 1000km of U.S. Island bases let alone U.S. or European shores so you have that backwards

Also in term's of cost a Carrier/Replenishment ships would cost far less than a cruiser or destroyer!

And we are talking about Carrier that carrier ~2-4 Helo's(under $20Million worth) + 2 MALE UAV's ($2Million) + $5Million worth of Jet powered UCAV's + $5 Million USD worth of various Quads (At max no more than $40 Million USD worth of various Iranian build Aircrafts, UAV's & Quad's onboard.

For what missions it would be used for would include

1.Replenishment ship for other ships in the fleet
2.Anti piracy and anti terrorist operations
3.Deploying mines and anti mine operations with limited anti sub warfare capability with quads capable of deploying small depth charges....
In terms of getting your money's worth Quads can be far more useful than helo's in various aspects where you don't need to transport troops or deliver heavy payloads.

In terms of speed you would NOT need a ship that's any faster than Iran's 200 meter long Kharg class replenishment ship & in terms of armament aside from the Fajr 27 Cannon you can even fit 2 twice as many weapons you have on the Mowj Class
All Iran would have to do is reverse engineer the Kharg Hull and engine and simply redesign the top deck

So all your really doing is adding an upgraded replenishment ship to the fleet

turbines are designed for power planets
how different they are?

Anybody knows what kind of steel sheets are needed to build the hull of a heavy submarine that is capable of going to the depths of +250 meters?

High strength alloyed steel.

Titanium hull for deeper depths 350+ meters (uncommon).

Well they are wider than our current ships.

A helo carrier is not a simply an “upgraded” replenishment ship. Nor is it optimized to be one.

Iran’s piracy missions are not significant. And building a helo carrier is a waste of resources. Egypt bought a helo carrier and they can barely fund their own military. So if you want to be like the Arabs then go right ahead. But at least the Arabs have the fancy toys to go with the their fancy ships.

Furthermore, your Helo carrier would be a joke. Filled with Shah era designed helos and decades old Russia MI helicopters. Until Iran demonstrates capability to build a true Navy bound attack and transport helicopter, why waste the resources.

Meanwhile destroyers are real assets and more useful. An iranian destroyer equipped with 64-128 VLS Soumar cruise missiles is more valuable.

@TheImmortal Wrong! Using the Hulls of Replenishment ships and Cargo ships to build Helo carries has been going on since WW2 and it's nothing new or some kind of a new radical ideal!

And Egypt has 2 carries and Turkey will finish building one within a year or so and aside from that and the usual suspects countries like Australia, Spain, Japan, India, Brazil, Argentina, Italy, South Korea,…. and even Thailand all have one so what this has to do with Arab's I have no clue since Egypt it the only Arab country that has them!

This is about practical use and since Iran has been adding and has plans to further add Mowj Class frigates to it's fleet we will need rather large Kharg size replenishment ships to go with them and if we have to a ship that size we might as well give it the capability to house up to 4 helo's, UAV's and Quads and it's not like Iran has any shortage of Helo's in stock

And of course having a 200 meter long cruiser will give Iran far greater offensive capability but it would cost a lot more as well and lets be clear in a real wartime situation you wanna use a massive cruise equipped with vast number of LaCM against what targets?
It would be a bit absurd to use such a vessel against targets that are already within 1000 miles of Iran and such a ship really wouldn't be something Iran can afford to risk sending out in the blue waters during peace time for escort missions

Where as a carrier/replenishment ship would have a practical use for Iran both during peace and wartime that can be used to replenishing ships on escort missions and provide a quick reactionary response in anti piracy operations that will also allow Iran to respond against terrorist bases using relatively low cost weapon and help deliver and provide aid to disaster stricken parts of the world within it's range, it would be a vital asset in search and rescue and doesn't constitute such a threat that it would be welcomed on diplomatic missions

but also to be able to use cargo ships, appropriately modified in a fixed configuration, or in rapid preparation with specially designed modules.

Yup and either way if Iran wants to continue adding Mowj class frigates to it's fleet that operate in Blue waters we will also need to add further long ranged replenishment ships to the fleet as well.

And the fact is Helo carries are far from some kind of luxury and more of a necessity for any country that wants increased operation in Blue Waters and as technology grows the use of unmanned quads, UAV's & various other unmanned vehicles in Naval operation will quietly continue to expand whether it's search and rescue, escort, anti mine and mining operation, anti sub warfare, amphibious assault, anti piracy and anti terrorist operations or providing aid like in Yemen.

perhaps initially, it would be more appropriate to use a smaller cargo ship, such as the IRAN SHALAMCHEH IMO: 8820925, with dimensional characteristics approaching the Tun Azizan of the Navy of Malaysia,

That ship is wasteful spending. Egypt is a country that is facing economic crisis and buys two helicopter carriers! That is how much intelligence they have! They didn’t buy it, Saudi Barbaria bought it for them.

Turkey actually has a robust Navy unlike Iran! So a helo carrier supplements its diverse Navy nicely.

@VEVAK Just stop this argument, you have lost. Iran’s Navy is a joke right now. It still doesn’t have destroyers and you want to jump to carriers SMH.

Iran needs destroyers and needs to start r&d on them so that 20-30 years down the road it will have been making destroyers for a few decades and have advanced in design considerably! Iran can then build a largely automated set of destroyers (limited manned crew) that use the same efficiency ideas as Zumwalt destroyer. Then once Iran has done this it can move to helo carriers.

Lastly, Iran may have a large helicopter force, but let’s be honest it’s mostly bell and cobra designed helicopters from the 1970s and a mixture of some Russia Mi helicopters from 1990s and 2000s.

Hardly worth building a helo carrier for these dinosaurs. With no major domestic Super attack helicopter project in development, its wasteful.

U.S. version mobile base. Converting supertankers to floating bases.

Major difference is the US actually has modern military helicopters to put on its carriers.

It’s like if Iran started building an aircraft carrier but then fitted it with F-5’s and F-4’s. It’s a joke.
