I am not a medical profession but I am telling this to you sir because I care .. I saw a program in Canada about cholesterol and heart attack...the biggest medical lie that most US viewers will not see. here is a summary:
1- the link between high cholesterol and heart disease was scientifically cooked up by US drug manufactures. Any study that showed there was no link was suppressed.

2- Drug companies having established(cooked up) the connection between high cholesterol and high heart problems started to push cholesterol reducing drugs (Lipitor and Crestor). they sold over $$60 billion of the two drugs (yes they do lower cholesterol but lowering it does nothing to prevent heart disease).

so my advise to you sir ..do some research if you take them. As one Canadian doctor said in the program after 60 million years of human evolution body does not make (bad or good cholesterol!!!!).

What are you basing this notion that rosuvastatin has "alot less side effect" on?
The statin that is associated with a higher risk of myopathy is 80mg of simvastatin.

Yes, in clinical practise there is no significant difference between rosuva and atorva. Atorvastatin is however much cheaper so people tend to go for that first.

I am not convinced of this. Forgetting the fact there is not much respectable literature backing this up, many more people are on atorvastatin than rosusvatatin, so if we see people developing the above S/Es, it does not mean atorvastatin is more likely to cause such issues it just means you're more likely to find people getting these S/Es due to the larger patient groups taking atorva.
