Iran unveils hypersonic weapon 'Fattah'

.
I am just saying that hypersonic tech is not irans accomplishment.

Then you're either deluded and/or talking out of pure jealousy/bitterness.
To even think Russia would hand over hypersonic missile technology to Iran is frankly borderline insanity. I hope for your sake you don't actually believe that.
Iran has been developing missile tech for 30 years. It has no need for anyone to give it anything in this sector.

.
It cannot be shot down

Congrats to Iran first of all.. Kudos and well played hope to see more future such developments now that being said it can be brought down and has already happened in Ukraine but with future renditions perhaps it could reach that status.

Honestly it has nothing to do with bitterness everyone is happy for Iran. I am happy for Iran and keep it coming. This is bearly reaching the surface and many to come but there is nothing negative about getting the TOT from russia by supplying them drones in Ukraine for exchange and that is what it really is here. It was good business move by Iran and now they can build on that TOT and make their new inventions on top of that

Quality though? 🙄

A Certain Military Superpower Called Russia who is buying shitload of our "quality products" disagrees with you.

This just seems like a more maneuverable ballistic missile, not really a glide vehicle type weapon. I feel like "Hyersonic" is just a buzzword at this point, and its not something new, various ballistic missiles have been capable of hypersonic speed for decades now. People are just rebranding to confuse with other hypersonic missiles like the Avangard or the LRHW. Like the Russian "hypersonic" Kinzhal missile which is just an air launched Iskander, and a bit more maneuverable..

Trolling is the only thing you're capable of attempting. The issue you have is you're not even a good troll. You're just getting slapped around.

You're describing your own country here. Stick to being humiliated by Pakistan, seems the only thing your nation is capable of.

You're getting desperate now. Trust me, insulting India is quite easy for me if I wanted to do so. I'd be spoild for choice choosing which area to humiliate your country on.

You're making yourself look like an imbecile. The wedge shaped HGV is one type of glide system. Another shape for example is the American "Common Hypersonic Glide vehicle:

message-editor%2F1596583318328-c-hgb.jpg

"The Common-Hypersonic Glide Body (C-HGB) is a weapon system that uses a booster rocket motor to accelerate to hypersonic speed and then jettisons the expended rocket booster. The glide body continues to fly at hypersonic speed, bouncing over the upper atmosphere and into space in a series of ‘leaps’, each leap changes the trajectory of the glide body, thus determines the final impact point. "

Nonsense. As shown above, various shapes can be utilised.

I have already explained to you why this is the case:

"Now, when the Fattah gets around few 100's of KM from its taget, its motor kicks it allowing it to performs much more kinematic maneuvers defating any curren air defence. By keeping its more extensive manoeuvres for the final stages, the system essentially reduces the amount of time the warhead experiences the relatively more extreme conditions, which, like I mentioned earlier allows for more economical mass production due to lower system cost."

Do you need me to dumb it down for you even more?

Iran has had quasi BM with MaRV for years. This is a glide system:

Fx77fe0WcAAkSgG

I think your main issue is you think all hypersonic missiles have to satisfy the wedge shape characteristics. Like I have explained to you many times, there are many ways to create these systems, they're not all the same. No one is claiming this is a wedge shaped hypersonic system with that exact characteristics, however it is a hypersonic system with glide capabilities. If you can't comprehend these not so nuances, then stick to something you actually understand.

You destroyed the troll man

That troll deserved that beating and @Philosopher even held back somewhat.

The Indian is fearful of muslims and has PTSD from the 1000 years colony.. He has his heart in his throat that's what it truly is.

The Indian nightmare is Khorasan alliance (AF-PAK-IR) hence they see you always as an enemy threat against them or a foe that may try them out one day. To put it short the indians are simple minded ppl they see every single breathing and walking muslim as potential enemy. They are afraid of Pakistan and now it is Af-Pak and Khorasan Alliance is even worse his heart won't take that much stress..

An Indians most fear is not China and never was but it is the thought of a Khorasan alliance..

Every MaRV attains hypersonic speed because it's falling down to earth from space. (how did you get the impression that I was denying that)

I think you do not even know the basics of missiles.

Going by your illogical definition, even decades-old SCUD is a hypersonic weapon since it attains some multifold Mach speeds at its apogee. ROFL-COPTER. That's not how missile speed categories work! Missiles have boost velocity, burnout velocity, terminal phase re-entry velocity, then rather unique low-terminal velocity (hitting the target). A conventional missile may go 15 Mach during its mid-flight but when it comes down and re-enters it starts losing the Velocity because of massive drag and course corrections.

HYPERSONIC Weapon is such a system that is still flying at ~Hypersonic Speed while it's near the end phase of its flight (glide and post glide)! Yes, ONLY that thing is classified as Hypersonic Weapon and Fattah qualifies for it because it re-enters at Mach 8 and glides to target at (~+5 Mach) Hypersonic speed. Other conventional even modern missiles can not do that because (a) their trajectory is ballistic or quasi ballistic they never enter the glide phase (b) because of lack of glide they start losing their terminal velocity. This is one of the reasons every modern military is chasing hypersonic weapons now otherwise why would they do that according to your BS logic, Russian Scuds, American Pershing, Chinese DF-3 is also hypersonic right? just stop humiliating yourself

Whatever speed a missile attains during its mid-course phase means nothing in the definition of a Hypersonic Weapon.

How is this Iranian missile special than other missiles with MaRV, other than it's quasi ballistic trajectory

Its terminal and Low-Terminal Speed at the glide phase and post-glide is Hypersonic. Our previous closest relatives to this thing were called Qassem and Kheybar Shikan both Skip Glideers ... tested years ago which I think played a role in Fattah's development. They were semi-Hypersonic vehicles while Fattah is a full one. Makes sense, R&D wise we started from somewhere and ended up at the perfect product. Knowing Iran, we might soon see this thing converted into Anti Shipping Ballistic missiles because our current Antishipping Ballistic Missiles are Quasi Ballistic Trajectory holders.

next ?

All I am saying is that this tech that Iran just mastered is not some special technology (that the big 5 are racing towards) instead it's a decades old tech which has been modified by Iran)

Then show me which of the decade-old "missile" has a low-terminal Hypersonic speed + Glide phase.

I ASKED YOU BEFORE, WHAT IS THE TERMINAL/LOW TERMINAL VELOCITY + TRAJECTORY OF INDIAN MISSILE you claimed was also hypersonic? I am waiting.

(Hint: I have been reading Norbert Brugg, IISS, Janes, Missile threat etc for 22 years)

However this is still extremely impressive than what many others have.

Thankyou

If going by that definition then even V2 is a hypersonic missile because it too had a small window where it was hypersonic.

Illogical!

Hypersonic weapon is a vehicle that attains Hypersonic speed while gliding and even hits the target at multifold faster speeds than conventional Ballastic or Quasi Ballastic Trajectory. Fattah does both things.

I am not trying to derail the thread, I am saying that your country is unnecessarily hyping this up.
This missile at best can be compared to Kinzhal not DF ZF

Hyping? Your prime minister or some guy was smashing coconuts on French bribed/overpriced rafales like they are some holy entities and we having a military presence in a missile base is hyping?

Agni 2 has a MaRV warhead obviously it's hypersonic.

Show me the official figures of its low terminal speed + trajectory then?

I know what is happening to you, you somehow have manifested in your mind that the Wegde-shaped glide vehicles are the only types that attain Hypersonic speeds. LOL. Thats just stupidity based upon lack of knowledge.

I can not believe, some people on military boards are so stupid that they think because Chinese DF-17 or DPRK Hwasong-8-HGV are Wedge shaped then every other glide vehicle should be same. It's like some people in 1950s may have seen Russian MIG-21 going supersonic and thinking oh only nose cone air-intake must be giving planes Mach 2.0 speed so F-4E/D with its sideway air-intakes must be a subsonic thing, Jeez.

Just b/c you show the warhead separately from the rest of the ballistic missile doesn't make it a hypersonic glide vehicle. There is a reason why that arrow head design was chosen by all, instead of a cone. Wait till we see this thing tested, it feels like Kinzhal/Iskander all over again.

. .
I didn't say everyone. Yes you had something valuable to offer to Russia .
I am just saying that hypersonic tech is not irans accomplishment.

By your logic, if Iran sitting in the top 10 rankings of STEM Research citations (non-self) while launching satellites into space for decades can not accomplish a simple Glide Vehicle (having a 3+ decades-old missile program), then other Islamic countries below Iran in R&D should not even be capable of rifles and cannons.

Stop the illogical envy or delusion, whatever it is.

LOL.

(a) Its Glide Trajectory

(b) Hypersonic speed at end of flight

.... makes it a hypersonic weapon. Actually, that makes any hypersonic weapon, a hypersonic weapon.

There is a reason why that arrow head design was chosen by all, instead of a cone.

And the point is? American and Iranians showed C-HGVs, Chinese, DPRK used Wedged ones, whats your point?

Wait till we see this thing tested,

If you do the hard work of going through this thread page by page, there are like 10 videos posted of it being "TESTED" with onboard cameras showing boost, stage separation, target hitting, the shockwave developed around the target, hell they even showed its TVC motor maneuvering in the lab. Please let us know what else do you need to see to give us your "expert opinion" here ?

it feels like Kinzhal/Iskander all over again.

Kinzhal that is daily ruining the azz of Zelensky-pay-me-american-taxpayer's-billions?

.
Propaganda takes precedence over facts and logic in this age. Some countries will develop a weapon system and hype it as being unstoppable. Kinzhal was unstoppable as well. ;)

Well, God dislike big boasts and "arrogance" of any side will be checked at some point.

Certainly....
Thats may be a mistake , its 15 not 25.
