Iran Plans to Build Nuclear-Fueled Submarines

If Iran plans to be a nuclear power, its a good decision, since they are the best for second strike capability.

Even though Iran doesn't have the capability to build one currently, it better to start now as it may take easily 2 decades to have an operational one.

look we have the reactor heart tech, it means that we can build an engine but that is not our problem, our problem is that after running the engine we need to control it and it needs another tech, we must find a way at least to use the sea water to make the reactor cold , if not boom! so we started to plan the submarine and when we find the way , then we will put the engine on the sub , that's all of it

Unlike you we don't waste our resources on midget subs who are only good to suicide and other propaganda nonsense. Thats why our GDP per capita is 5 times more than yours.
you know ,you are right , it would be a waste of US aid money to a certain welfare state , because the must you can do is when your systems fail ,you first say the defense system was turned of then when everybody laughed at you then you claimed no it was not turned off but it was working perfectly in a mode that didn't allowed to engage incoming missiles . and to prove your point ordered all your ships to pull back 100km . another masterwork of your designed system is that could not detect launcher and its turned on radar 20km away instead thought an Egyptian merchant ship which was 89km away as source of attack and used an American technology against it (as they knew their own technology certainly will fail and probably detonate on board) and later when they learned the source of attack was at 20km away at the shore in front them then they come up with the ridiculous claims that the shore launcher launched two missile one hit them and one hit the Egyptian ship , well poor Israeli seems at the time didn't knew that that missiles only had 32 km of range and it was impossible for them to fly for 90-100 km

so yes it would be waste of American taxpayers money if you guys try to build a submarine of your own.

Israel gets some military aid thats all this aid is less than 1.5% of our GNP. You get 60 billion petrodollars each year. Without these money you would be Zimbabwe level.

, because the must you can do is when your systems fail ,
In 1973 Israeli made missile boats armed with Israeli made anti ship missiles and Israeli made countermeasures destroyed without a single loss Soviet made missile boats.

Your biggest achievement so far is losing a frigate when you foolishly tried to blockade shipping in Gulf. So sit quiet there.

Daily Star Egypt, July 18, 2006:

Crew of Egyptian ship hit by Hezbollah rocket return to Cairo

CAIRO: Eleven crew members of an Egyptian merchant ship returned to Cairo on Monday, three days after their cargo vessel was hit by a Hezbollah rocket during an attack on an Israeli warship off the Lebanese capital Beirut. One injured crew member remained in a Syrian hospital.

The Cambodian-flagged Moonlight, bound for the Syrian port of Tartus with a cargo of cement, was struck by a rocket on Friday and set on fire.

'Suddenly there was a loud explosion near the fuel tanks which caught fire. The crew members were unable to extinguish it,' ship captain Abdel-Hamid Abdel-Fattah told reporters.

Mohammed Al-Redi of the Al-Redi Agency that owned the ship said last week that the Moonlight was 35 km off of the Lebanese coast when it was hit, well outside the 3-mile blockade Israel imposed on the Lebanese shoreline.

Abdel-Fattah said another Egyptian ship, the Al-Marwa, also carrying cement and owned by the same company, rescued the crew and took it to Syria. Both vessels had left the Egyptian port of Damietta on Wednesday.

Get life, kid.

real funny , 35km away of Lebanon shore yes but they were about 80-90 km away from where the missiles were fired , you knew they were a little north of where the missile fired and Hezbollah had no chance to target that ship from where they fired at hanit

Hanit was 32 km from shore. The Egyptian ship - 35 km.

Immediately after that accident Israel destroyed all coastal radars. If we were destroying them before missile would not be fired.

This is good news, but seeing is believing so lets wait :azn:

also 500:
you pathetic zionists, it is not our fault Hezbollah raped you.they were just better than you.
you can only attack innocent un-armed people.

Nuclear fighter plane
Nuclear car
Nuclear Motorbike
Nuclear cooking stove :D
Nuclear water purification(UV is old technology a propaganda by zionist :o)

In Persian language article, IRIN commander talks about diesel and nuclear submarines and says "for example , building a diesel submarine with displacement weight around 4000 tonnes needs 8 million person-hour work and 450,000 pieces are used in it. In another part of article he says building a nuclear submarine with 18750 tonnes displacement weight needs 12 million person-hour work and 1 million pieces are used in it.

I think 4000 and 18750 tonnes are the signs that shows they have studied submarines with these displacement weight. For the first one I found Kilo class that Iran has it. Full load submerged displacement weight of Kilo is around 4000 tonnes.

Although these examples doesn't prove anything, It is very interesting if Iran has a plan to build a 18750 tonnes nuclear submarine.
But I guess after experience of overhauling Tareq submarine, Iran has already started a project for building submarine based on Kilo submarine.

Good luck running salt water through a reactor for cooling, i belive the last people to use that method were on K-19

i was kidding i don't want to replace heavy water with salt water :D

*** next year Iran will start it's own reactor and it is 40 mega volt so in next year we will have the enough power for a submarine ... it was for who that don't want to believe it's possible....

Hanit was 32km away it means the maximum range of the mssile , then the egiptian when at 35km of the shore but they were far north ,if you triangulate it the distance from the launcher would have been around 80-90 km and there is no way a kowsar can reach that distance even if you fire it from sky . And you destroyed all the shore radars !!! I think last night your dinner was too heavy and you had disturbed dream , kowsar is mounted on a truk (i mean all the system ) and after that there is a very good reason that the incident didn't repeat ,you ordered all your ship that distance themselve at least 120km from the shore and by that hezboallah achieved his goal , from that day your navy had no means to shell beirut
