Iran is developing a water jet engine

Iran Chief of Marine Department of the Ministry of Defense, Admiral Rastegari, Project for the construction of 1300 horsepower national water jet engine for fast boats, the engine is expected to be ready by the end of this year.

What Iran really needs to focus on is semi-submerisble fast attack boats made of composites and reduced RCS.

Think of the Zumwalt destroyers that US has.

Imagine taking a reduced RCS design applying it to a FAC made of composites. It would be nearly invisible to radar. As it approached its target it would enter a semi-submersible state much like the Zumwalt and unleash Anti ship missiles (2-3) from a safe distance.

If Iran can master that technology and multiple it by a 100, it would have a formidable FAC on its hands.

Iran already has the technology for pretty speedy FAC, now it needs to incorporate some next gen elements into it to increase survivability and leathality.
