The US says Iran is developing advanced anti-ship missiles and has enhanced its missile arsenal over the past few years.

According to the report entitled “Annual Report on Military Power of Iran”, the US intelligence community said the Iranian-produced weapons, particularly its anti-ship missiles, are increasing in range and accuracy, the World Tribune weekly newspaper reported.

“Short-range ballistic missiles provide Tehran with an effective mobile capability to strike partner forces in the region,” the report, submitted by the US Defense Department to Congress, said.

“Iran continues to improve the survivability of these systems against missile defenses,” it further reported.

Signed by US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta on June 29, the report said the Iranian Navy is developing its anti-ship cruise missile capability. The enhancement, according to the report, is meant to allow the firing of missiles that could identify and loiter over targets before a strike.

“It is also developing and has deployed short-range ballistic missiles with seekers that enable the missile to identify and maneuver toward ships during flight. This technology also may be capable of striking land-based targets,” the report said.

“Beyond steady growth in its missile and rocket inventories, Iran has boosted the lethality and effectiveness of existing systems with accuracy improvements and new sub-munitions payloads,” the report said.

“Iran may be technically capable of flight testing an intercontinental ballistic missile by 2015,” the report claimed.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in the defense sector and gained self-sufficiency in essential military hardware and defense systems.

Iran has repeatedly assured other nations, especially regional neighbors, that its military might poses no threat to other countries, insisting that its defense doctrine is merely based on deterrence.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) staged a three-day missile drill codenamed the Great Prophet 7 in the central Iranian province of Semnan on July 2.

Indigenous missiles, including Shahab (Meteor) 1, 2, 3, Khalij Fars (Persian Gulf), Tondar (Lightning), Fateh (Victor) and Zelzal (Quake) as well as Qiam (Uprising) were fired at mock targets during the drill.

at last even the American is saying don't underestimate Iran weapons

my point is not how many kills Iran have made

but rather if they were able to hit the pride of the Enemy forces that includes like the ships and bases with high precision

Iran is preparing to defend her sovereignty and independence from the threat of the israeli nukes and the american hegemony. Therefore, its attempt is an act of self-defence which is legal in every sense.
