Well , I'm sure if IRIAF wants to buy some fighter , at least they would send IRIAF Generals or ask for plane to be tested in Iran ( just like Mig 29 and J7 ) ....
IRIGC is more interested in UCAV and I doubt IRI spend money on making brand new Air force for IRIGC before reviving IRIAF ...

Not only PAC but many of our research institutes will be banned by US.
US can also go to the level of 80's when Pakistani students were not allowed ot study Physics in west.
Now Pakistani students would not be allowed to study engineering as well.

It was stupid idea to invite Iran on the occasion of IDEAS. Iran is not even respected in India as much that they got invited to inspect their front line SU30MKI or Mirage 2000. Pakistan again and proved that it's a banana republic.

If we are able enough to negotiate sanction exceptions from US, than we can also win exception on cash payments from Iran, thanks to Barack Hussein Obama, Iran got loads of it!

True. It's like Austria bought Eurofighter Typhoon from Germany, Qatar bought Eurofighter Typhoon from Britain. Iran won't buy JF-17 from Pakistan, only from China.

if this news is even true which i highly doubt,JF-17 might be capable of replacing IRIAF's MiG-29 fleet but it is not suitable to replace the F-14 fleet.

JF-17 cannot replace MiG-29. It can replace F-5.

Lets be Realistic here..

The Iranians have to replace their entire fleet. Over the years they have somehow made the F-5's locally by reverse engineering them but the engine technology was sold by the USA at the time of Shah. They can not improve further as the best they could do was the AZARAKASH fighter bomber which had a Twin Tail configuration.

However they have stopped its production due to lack of advanced radar technology.

A few days back there was an article that IRAN is interested in procuring the J-10 which would offer them a range which not even the F-14's can offer. The Russians are not interested in supplying them the SU-30's at the present time.

The European countries that are most likely to sell them are France and Italy. But they know it would be very difficult to fulfill any commitments because of USA.

Now the only solution is to procure something from China so both JF-17 and J-10's are being considered.

110-150 J-10 + 250-300 JF-17 would be an ideal high low mix with the locally produced aircraft to effectively deny any attack.

If I may remember correctly @Oscar you did play a scenario where GCC invades Iran and the outcome was not very good in regards with GCC. Could you do something like that with Iran having J-10's and JF-17's along with the migs and Su's.

KSA needs Pakistan far more than Pakistan needs KSA. Pakistan has its own interests. It don't serve anyone else's interests. Pakistan is a sovereign state. As such, Pakistan may sell to whoever it may find interesting to sell to.

Iran replace F-14 and F-4 with Su-30, MiG-29 with J-10 B, F-5 with JF-17 seems most likely.

Yar they are just checking it for fun.
They don't have money due to economic sanctions.
Besides Iran has these sanctions, poor Pakistan cannot duck past these sanctions. Only if china can sell, then they can maybe. But they too are very cautious about their image.
And lastly we are too much interested in saudia Arabia and gulf states. They are helping us and they would invest in very near future .
So why would we risk that and sanctions and sell jf 17 to Iran when Iran cannot even afford them..

There is no reason to not to sell to Iran. Correction.

But news is a speculation because Iranians were too much interested and were asking many question about the jet and the spent most of their time around JF-17.

They provably want to make it themseleves . It has Russian and chinese parts and Iran do Produce lots of defence equipment.
